I didn't watch the video, but the stills make it looks like conjoined limbs. Same type of thing as the most recent cat with 2 faces (janus cat), but these cats have the extra limbs instead of faces.

could just be Himalayan crosses with matted hair starting to shed. My Russian Blue/Himalayan has chunks that will come off like that if I wait too long to trim his hair.

That's also another possibility. I've never seen mats that large actually away from the body. I've always seen them attached in several spots all along the side.

I had to do a real hack job with the electric trimmer on a cat I rescued a few years ago. She was solid with mats on her chest and belly.
