Am I missing something on these things? I looked at the new Ipad2 on the internet and don't see a USB port.

If I want to have I tunes on my Ipad and want to put the songs on my Ipod, how would I do it?

Or did I just miss seeing the port?

It's got a proprietary port on the bottom that plugs into USB on a Mac or PC to connect to iTunes with. The cable is included and also doubles as a charging cable.

I understand that. I just didn't see it on the Ipad.

So I can plug my ipod into the ipad?

Oh sorry I misunderstood what you were asking. The only port I remember seeing on an ipad was the one for the charging/docking port.

That's what I'm wondering. How would you get the songs from Itunes to your ipod?

This may not answer the question, but I upload songs from my iTunes music library to both my iPhone and iPad via the USB cable.

Is there a USB port on the ipad?

OK, you start with the music on your PC/Mac. Your iPod and iPad both have the same exact kind of connector. You plug either one in to the PC/Mac, launch iTunes and copy the music you want to the device. you cannot plug an iPod into an iPad or vise versa. you have to plug either one into the PC to copy music over.

No, you can only plug an iPod into a computer, same with the iPad.

So basically then the ipad is acting like an ipod. And will I be able to use both the ipod and the ipad for music? I mean will the library recognize two devices?

Yes to both.

Correct, and you can put different music/videos/pictures on each if you want.

And you can buy the music directly from the iTunes version that comes with the iPad, then you can sync it to your pc and transfer the files there.

You won't be able to take music from the iPad, I don't think.

The music will sync from your computer. Pretty sure you can't just sync it from the iPad to an iPhone or an iPod.

Yeah, that would be nice. Seems like a no brainer, but they're moving closer to that point I think with all the airplay and WiFi sharing they're doing.

The iPad has the same port as your iPod. You use the supplied cable to plug it into your computer and sync your iTunes music off your PC onto your iPad, the exact same way you would do your iPod. The cable is actually identical, as well.

I was really disappointed they didn't allow an SD card expansion on the iPad2, but not at all surprised.
