this was obvious when Dak demanded the top dollars. You can’t pay for the talent around him and pay him that. Type of money. People ripped me for saying it at the time. Now we are seeing the result. It takes a team to win a championship. One guy can’t do it so why do they eat so much of the cap. If it weren’t for the cap I wouldn’t care what we gets. But we need to pay everyone enough to build a balanced team.

People are totally overblowing this in my opinion. The reason these 4 QB’s are the last ones standing is in no small part due to the fact that they are the best QB’s in the league this year. Only Purdy does not fall into that category and in part due to lack of body of work. I see so many dumb takes here, and elsewhere, that you can’t win without the QB on a rookie deal. But of the last 10 Super Bowl champions how many had QB’s on their rookie deals? You just need to be good. If you’re also cheap, then hey, that’s just gravy, but it’s not the reason why your team is successful.

there are examples of 2nd contract guys getting it done heck last year was one and of course the goat and there are others but it is overwhelming in favor of rookie contract guys that are good. You just cant throw out any ole QB on rokkie contract and think its going to happen and you got to surround them with talent

It’s extremely difficult if the qb eats up a ton of cap space. Teams with qbs on rookie deals are having far more success overall

Difficult not impossible and that what we’re saddled with is a second contract guy
