Only a Cowboy for one year, Zach Thomas goes in HOF with Chuck Howley and DeMarcus Ware

Although he only played in Dallas for one season, Zach Thomas (drafted by Jimmy Johnson for the Dolphins) is another Texan going into the HOF this season, along with Ware and Howley. Zach Thomas and DeMarcus Ware were teammates in 2008. That means there is a good chance the Cowboys will be scheduled for the HOF game this year, giving them extra training camp time, and an extra preseason game.

Side story: I was a Sales Engineer in 1996, the year Thomas was drafted, and my territory was West Texas and Oklahoma. I met Zach's little sister, Katina, who was the reigning Miss Amarillo during a Toast Masters meeting early one morning in Amarillo. Of course, she went on to marry Jason Taylor, the Pro Bowl DE for the Dolphins, who was inducted into the HOF in 2017.

As a big Tech fan, I saw Zach Thomas play several games as a red raider. He was the most dominant defender from Tech since “Senior Sack”, the great Nose Guard Gabe Rivera, who was #1 pick of the Steelers before he ended his career in a car accident.
