[Update: Microsoft has confirmed the pricing in a news release, though the pre-order page is not yet live.]

Microsoft appears to have inadvertently revealed the pricing for its upcoming Surface tablet earlier than planned. TechCrunch spotted a pre-order page for the Windows RT version of the Surface on Microsoft’s online store, which has since been pulled down.

But if the numbers are right, the Surface will be competitively priced. The 32 gigabyte model was listed at $499 without the Touch Cover, which has a built-in keyboard. Adding a Touch Cover brings the price to $599, and a 64-GB model with Touch Cover is $699.

The page doesn’t indicate whether the higher-capacity model is available without a Touch Cover. If you buy the Touch Cover separately, it runs $119.99.

Ha ha, at first glance, my mind parsed the above as "completely overpriced" :laugh2:

I applaud MS for introducing some new ideas into the tablet competition but I'm not sure there is a real market for the RT line.

Tablets are about the screen quality, the battery, and the build. Surface RT falls short of the competition on the first two.

For big business it is not and for the Hospital they will end some of the nightmares we have trying to secure the ipad. We can take the tablet off the shelf and integrated into our security with no issues and get rid of our headaches with all these other tablets (The Ipad being the worse)

Oh yes some of them are down right cry babies. Lucky me I do not have to deal with them directly but I have to deal with some of the crap that gets stirred up and pushed down on us from management.
