Opinion, should the NFL have a minor league system

I thought Arizona and Cincy were already part of the NFL's minor league system.

I thought Cincy was representing the penal football league:D

If a hard, low rookie pay scale is put in place, will that give Cuban an edge on signing new players and starting a new major league?

A minor league would be helpful to guys like Lattimore and Lowber, but minor leagues aren't money makers and the NFL doesn't really need anything more than the NCAA.

I don't know if I necessarily agree with this.

I think the NFL needs more Cheerleaders, more time devoted to televised study of those Cheerleaders, all games televised on regular stations (no Direct TV BS) and more free Cold Beer.

:D

I'm open to negotiations on the Cable thing.

Spring Leagues do not make sense for a minor league team.
Why have them play then, Then turn around and have a prospect in TC. Then play a regular NFL season, if they were to make the team. They guy would be exhausted by game 3.

Too much expense, especially for medical cost. Your talking about less trained athletes here. And your paying 40 players to develop on what would only be a few roster spots, which will mostly be special teams or back ups. If they are that good to begin with to make the team, they do not need to be in a minor league.

Why? NCAA gives it for free, plus they don't have to pay those athletes anything except for their scholarships (which can be low at some state colleges!). Plus, these players make so much for the NCAA, I'm sure they wouldn't give that up without a fight, like making sure the NFL doesn't do it or going to congress, etc.

I do agree with your ideas! It just isn't going to happen with so many people making so much money off , in effect, free labor.
End of thread.

In the Daily Oklahoman an offensive lineman for Oklahoma State calculated that he was making minimum wage for hours spent on football. That is hard to compete against.
