Our Defense is not what I thought they were

I am still sick that they could not get one more stop after the offense put 14 pts on the board and changed the momentum. Just let the eagles offense run down the field and get 1st down after 1st down. I think the hype should die down for a while since they had a chance to show that they are really good with the team down 20-17. And no I am not going to be impressed if they sack jared goof and Justin fields the next two weeks. Their test was last night and they failed.

When your offense gets one first down in a quarter in a half and give the Eagles the ball 3 times on your side of the field, your defense will have some problems. Like the opening poster I thought maybe we had one of those historical defenses. This team is not there yet.

Cowboys defense has sucked against the run for over 10 years now. This weakness being exploited should be no surprise to anyone who actually watches the games.

well shutting down the Lions and Bears offense doesnt excite me

Having a competent offense so the defense can rest would help greatly. Hell, the defense practically played a full game in minutes in the first half alone.

Their test was last night and they failed.

They only gave up 2 drives. Against the Eagles offense, that is saying something.

I'm super impressed with their 2nd half especially. When the offense wasn't putting them in a hole, they played well.

Even better than I thought they were after the Eagles game. They got tested last night and played well.

Plays they got beat by were just a few really nicely drawn up coaching calls to take advantage of us when they really needed it. Got them two TD's and a couple of big first downs.

They are top notch against the pass and I would say a solid 7 out of 10 in the run game. Hard to complete shut down the run when your offense is terrible and 3 picks putting them in a bad situation most of the night. Holding the Eagles to 6 points in the 2nd half was amazing.

i was also told we had a test vs the rams.
they passed.
our defense was on the field too long.
can't give your rival 3 turnovers and expect your defense to continue to bail you out.
we blanked them in the 3rd Qtr...closing the lead to 3pts.
defense fought their *** off last night.
we didn't get the w...so credit to philly.
but its october and they are not the '72 dolphins.
long season ahead.
i'll take this defense moving forward.
