Outside zone rushing scheme

Is it clearly obvious that this team runs an old, out dated rushing scheme. Hell, our OL coach has been around for decades.

We are seeing a lot of outside zone, rushing teams having great success. The system has a ton of motion which forces the defense to be very disciplined, disguises run/pass very well and creates big chunk plays with one cut speed type of backs.

Cowboys run inside most of the time, so if Solari/McCarthy are brought back I'm not not opposed to drafting a RG (Booker) and focusing on RB that run well in tight spaces and have power for inside running.

What happens if they are both gone in another year or two? It forces us to stay with an outdated scheme. I want to run more like the Rams, 49ers type of offense, where the QB is under center and have the ability to get chunk run plays not just grinding them out.

I would prefer both were gone and totally agree with you on the next run scheme I'd like to see.

The likes of Purdy, Goff have played like elite qb’s in that type of system. We all agree, cannot put everything on Dak to carry this offense

Yep, that offense makes their jobs easier and they have more safe throws and open receivers off play-action.

Our biggest hope is that they don't extend MM and his staff. Hire a modern OC as HC that comes from this type of scheme.

Always seems that this franchise is behind the times, where they were ahead of it years ago. Stuck with the Air Coryell offense way too long as they wanted to replicate the 90's success, finally adopted the WC offense, but MM's version is outdated. Really need to bring in a modern scheme and now is the perfect time to do so.
