Anyone heard anything yet? Its getting close to roster trimming time and Goodell has not said anything. Thougth we'd hear by now something.

I'm sure Goodell wants to wait and get as much info as possible. Observe Adam's behavior in camp where he's in a controlled environment without too much access to trouble. Then wait and see how he handles things once the team gets back home and he's got access again to all those things which were his downfall in the first place. If he reinstates too quickly, he looks silly if another issue comes up. I know all the conspiracy guys want to say Gooddell is just punishing the Cowboys by not announcing, but thus far, he has stuck to his stated timeline. Good news is that as far as we know, Adam has held up his end of the bargain.

I think i read goodell would let the cowboys know before the final cutdown to 53:star:

I am sorry Goddel is just being childish about this whole thing. He said One year suspension, then changed it up to this BS. If the dude messes up it doesn't make Goddel look like anything, its all on Jones. There is no reason to keep punishing him when it alrady should have been completed.

Is Adam Jones being able to practice? He is able to play in the pre-season games? Jones will get reinstated before the start of the reg season as long as he stay out of trouble. So in the end this is not doing any damage to the Cowboys or Adam Jones.

Goodell's waiting until after the next episode of Hard Knocks to see if Jones makes any " entertainment " visits.

Plus Jerry knew it would not be decided until late August. He also was prepared to deal with Jones having to miss games. The team has been preparing for that possibility.

True. I do think Jones will be reinstated between now and the start of next week. You are right no promises were made

I'm one of those who is about sick and tired of Roger Goodell. Ever since he took over for Paul Tagliabue, it seems to be one incident after another.

I think players suspend themselves by their own action. When you have players go to the commissioner’s office wanting the league to get clean up including our own Jason Witten it is hard for me to fault Goodell. Myself I think this has been long overdue

If AJ hadn't put himself in this position, it wouldn't be an issue. In this case, Goodell is doing us a favor, since the reinstatement probably hangs over AJ and helps keep him on the straight and narrow. He's a lock to play this year if he stays clean, so there's no harm done.

I think as long as he is not in prison it should be a non issue. Whatever he does off the field has nothing to do with his ability to play football. (Off soapbox).

Maybe not but the league has rules and if you want to play in this league then you play by their rules. Plain and simple you don't have to like it and you don't have to play

Adam 'Pacman' Jones part of Cleveland game plan

Tim MacMahon E-mail News tips

Commissioner Roger Goodell hasn't made an official decision on whether to fully reinstate Adam "Pacman" Jones, but the Cowboys assume he'll be cleared to play the season opener in Cleveland.

"All along, again maybe it's just hoping, I thought we'd have him," Wade Phillips said. "That's the way we've been approaching it. If the commissioner changes ... I mean, if it doesn't go through, then we'll have to make adjustments."

The Pacman plan is to put him at right cornerback in the nickel and dime and as the punt returner. Kick returns are a possibility, too.

The Cowboys won't need Pacman to start at left cornerback, as he did against the Texans. Terence Newman won't play in the preseason finale, but he did everything during today's practice with no problems.

Goodell has returned "A Player Formerly Known As Pacman's" letter due to being non-responsive. Goodell originally requested that Jones submit along with the letter request for reinstatement a crayon colored in drawing of the NFL logo - and 500 sentences repeating ' I Will Never Embarrass Myself Or The NFL Again'.

There is also a strongly reported rumor that Jones has also been non-compliant to Goodell by refusing to wear a dunce cap while on the sidelines during all pre-season games.

Some players just have such huge egos....

I think we'll see something by this weekend, or just before final cuts. The approach by the NFL has been very deliberate, not giving any hints as to the decision before it's made.
