I will say this from the start. I have been a long time Cowboys fan ( since '77) that has been saying, "I will not believe in this team until this franchise can JUST GET TO A DAMN NFC CONFERENCE Finals". **** This is the Dallas Cowboys! but for the past 30 years, this franchise has looked more like the Cleveland Browns/Detroit Lions or SD/LA Chargers. This century, the Cowboys have the 5th lowest playoff wins. Are you kidding me?!?!
Fifth lowest. And I am also say, I criticize Jerry Jones for his damn PRIDE. Jerry wants to win the Forbes SB and not the SB on the field. And he does it. The Dallas Cowboys are valued at 9.2 Billion and this franchise has done NOTHING for 30 years. Amazing. Jerry is sure a great business man but stubborn, prideful GM. Jerry said himself, he would have been fired if he was the GM of the NY Yankees for his poor, post season productivity.

Now, that is out of the way, to my topic. Ever since Micheal Irvin retired, this franchise just hasn't been the same. ( Refer to top portion). Players come to Dallas to be popular and win football games second. Demand to be excellent has been lost what Irvin demand in practice and on the field. Irvin worked his *** off in practice and demand this teammates to follow his example. (( Off the field Irvin was an idiot with all legal problems))

Now step in Micah Parson who is resembling what Irvin was in the 90s. Parsons demands he plays his best in practice. He will not back down and even his teammates don't like it. But Parsons says "tough" and bring it. Parsons wants to win and not just talk about it. So far Micah, is being "The Playmaker" this franchise has been missing for 30 years

So when Parsons retires and gets hired by NFL Network or ESPN, please, please have him stay at an AirBnB and not a hotel chain. Lol.

lol @ "prideful." The NFL has been around for over a century, filled with dozens of prideful owners both dead and still kicking.

Yet, Jones sticks out in that multitude like a sore thumb. Wonder why?

we will see and frankly the OP forgets a lot of players here who gave it their all

When Parsons has 3 rings then we can talk
I agree there---- I am not comparing Parsons to Taylor or any else. What I am saying is Parson's DEMANDS/INTENSITY/DRIVE is what Irvin was. And frankly, I think Parsons will have to leave Dallas if he wants to truly win a Superbowl. Parsons will not get that chance with Jerry Jones playing GM. Jerry wants to win the Forbes Bowl.
Demarcus Ware had to leave Dallas not only to win a SB, but to just play in a conference finals with Denver.
Jerry will ultimately, frustrate Parsons, and he will leave Dallas. Parsons wants to win a SB.

Unfortunately, I feel the same way as you do about what will happen.

Good post and comparison.
I was/still am a HUGE fan of Irvin's on field leadership style and what he brought to that 90s team.
I hope Micah continues to demand that 100 percent maximum effort from ALL his teammates by constantly displaying his own relentless work ethic and will to win at all times.
Just like Irvin.

Mike wasn't the best player on the Cowboys teams of the 90s. But he was the heartbeat. Mike was and is an all time favorite of mine. Parsons is the only one with the heart and ability to make this team successful. He is the best player on this team by a mile and the defense, led by him, has to be beyond incredibly good for this team to be successful. The defense has to make up for all team inefficiencies.
