We can never get enough appreciation for Micah so thought I'd post the Sky Sports article from this week........just a bit of fun.

Defensive Player of the Year
Micah Parsons (Dallas Cowboys)

Cowboys secondary coach Joe Whitt Jr recently suggested Micah Parsons was the first player he has encountered that could start at safety, linebacker and defensive end for all 32 teams, throwing in likely roles at tight end and running back for good measure. Any jest aside, the second-year marvel governs an exclusive category of his own as the NFL's boundary-shattering edge torpedo and turbo-charged off-ball crab. He might well be the best player in football.

Honourable mentions: Nick Bosa (San Francisco 49ers) can consider himself unfortunate to be sharing a standout season with a mutant like Parsons, the 49ers edge rusher riding right on his tail with 8.5 sacks, 27 pressures and eight tackles for loss in seven games… Patrick Surtain II (Denver Broncos) has asserted himself as one of the NFL's premier cornerbacks while allowing zero touchdowns on the year, and Matthew Judon (New England Patriots) is also a dark horse with a league-high 11.5 sacks.

Sporting award history from over seas is a quality reference and scrutinized from way back in sports and eras...a 'special' note in deed.

I'm sure you all know this but NFL is big in the UK and the coverage on TV by Sky Sports is really good, 5 live games a week so plenty for us Brits to watch. There's even most of the talk show stuff too these days.

They also have delicious Scotch Whisky, The beautiful Isle of Skye, and of course Nessie…..but they still drive on the wrong side of the road.

Talisker Skye single malt whisky… absolutely stunning stuff!!
I’m a rum drinker and not so much a whisky drinker, but I was bought a bottle as a present and it’s such a nice drink .

I was watching a feature at the end of MNF in the Sky Sports Studio where they had Rob Ryan explain how his defensive staff would plan for a game on the Sunday each day and what he would expect out of his defensive staff. Very interesting. Rob's a great guest to have

I shouldn't say this being a Scot but not a big Whisky man. Like you I prefer really good quality rum.

The coverage is great, really professional and the guests they bring on are top notch....clearly paying them with flights over and a good hotel with a few days in London... Great gig if you can get it!

Been in Nottingham a couple of weeks, but am from South Texas and even enjoy ice cold tequila (Don Padron) and my salt shaker to lick...

Don't forget the Old Course....

I was blessed to play that hallowed ground in 2017 and it's a day I'll never forget

Parsons could also play CB and WR. Would probably be a better QB than Fields in Chicago.

OL and 1tech DT probably the only positions he can't play.

Asking a favor of you here and now....our old friend, please do a posting of what you see in the secondary right here and now and how you see it going into next season!

I would use it as a back drop to understand a projection for offensive/defensive line values and perhaps linebacker!

DEFENSIVE BACKS

https://www.bloggingtheboys.com/202...s-breakdown-defensive-positions-micah-parsons

Everyone talks about the problems stopping the run with the Dallas defense. Most of the time it’s runs on the outside where it all goes wrong. Aaron Jones is formidable at running the toss-sweep and on screen receptions, so the cornerbacks for Dallas will play an important role at stopping the running back. The good news, though, in terms of passing defense is that Aaron Rodgers only trusts Allen Lazard to throw to, and even when the run game is dominating the game script, we see Rodgers playing hero ball and trying to win the game at the abandonment of the run game.

Trevon Diggs versus Lazard should be a favorable matchup for Diggs, and the rest of the cornerbacks should handle what receivers the Packers have left. Sammy Watkins is nursing a knee injury, Romeo Doubs may not play with an ankle injury, and Christian Watson was in concussion protocol, but looks likely to play. For Dallas, Malik Hooker is healthy and practiced in full, Donovan Wilson was limited but is set to suit up Sunday, and DaRon Bland gets to take on the vacant slot corner position for the rest of the season.
