I have an all-in-one Sony Vaio that has Vista home premium. This desk top is about 5 years old but for the first three and a half years was rarely used, so it's in fairly new and really good condition.

This past couple of weeks out of the blue the PC will reboot itself, and once it restarts I get this:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.0.6002.2.2.0.768.3
Locale ID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 9f
BCP1: 0000000000000003
BCP2: FFFFFA8004025A30
BCP3: FFFFFA8006217050
BCP4: FFFFFA8004267010
OS Version: 6_0_6002
Service Pack: 2_0
Product: 768_1

Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini020913-03.dmp
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-562383-0.sysdata.xml
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Temp\WERC8BA.tmp.version.txt

It will ask if I want to search online for a solution but it never returns with any solution.

Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem?

I strongly recommend you join http://www.vistax64.com/ and mention this problem - it's by the same people that run www.sevenforums.com who have Microsoft Certifications or even work for them.

Do you have a recovery disk, or Vista disk? That may be their suggestion.

Sony Vaio is an excellent notebook, but Windows 7 would be a better upgrade from Vista.

The standard practice unless you know how to pull the dump file and read it would be to make sure your laptop is patched up and check Sonys downloads and update all the drivers and firmware on the laptop.

Generally when the random ones happen like that with the generic BSOD it is all tied to software and firmware.

Yes most those support companies including Microsoft will not help if you are not up to a certain patch level.

Even with premiere support I have had those fights with Microsoft
