figured I’d start a thread in the O/T zone. Is anyone else into performance boating? If so whatcha got and where do you run?

Been into the boating scene for 30 years growing up around Drag Boats. I love this hobby and everything associated with it. Worked in the biz for about 6 years after I sold my business. Good times, Wild Stories. Here are a couple of trailers for the Performance boating Scene enjoy!

I am more into the performer boating and wouldn't mine a couple of those on my boat. I'll even takes the ones that fell overboard.

I am just an ordinary pleasure craft boater with a Four Winns H23 Signature w300 horses but Smiley will get up and move on Lake LBJ, topped her in at 50mph and for an old guy, that's plenty fast on the water. And she's great at cutting through the chop on a busy day but I stay off LBJ on holidays. Young drunks and fast PWC's at 60mph is just too much. Add the old drunks with too slow pontoons and you've got a ready made disaster flick. Some of the lakes in Tejas have forbidden the PWC's on holidays but not LBJ.

Love to watch those boats run at Grand Lake in NE OK where some friends have a lake house but I don't want to buy the gas for them. They can afford it, most are trust fund babies with oil daddies. The one we got on was owned by a friend of their son, he's 19 and got it for his 18th birthday. They're too loud, can't hear my tunes and they're too fast, can't keep my cigar lit, and they're too bumpy, wear more of my libation than I can manage to get into my mouth. But when he opened it up, what a rush to the senses.

Give me an old dog, a trolling motor, a cooler full of all kinds of delightful libations, some good stogies and I can meander my way into oblivion. Nice and easy, I am only in a hurry to get someplace and take it nice and easy.

I like watching them but would not want to own one. Too much trouble and not practical for me. I want to cruise the open ocean while fishing and diving.

Well, who's going to drive the boat while you're diving. I'm will but ya gotta supply me with top shelf hooch and trust me that I will circle back for you. You could give me just enough for 30 minutes and put the rest in the liquor locker, the most hated oxymoron of all time. But, here again, trust is involved as I might find a locksmith out boating.

I'm at the age now that pontoons suit my performance.
If I had it to do over, that's the route I would go as that is more practical and would allow me to do CC's Lake LBJ Floating Brothel. The only one offering straight on wave hopping or the oft requested side to side rocking motion for those with recent hip replacements. Personalized enjoyment for the most discerning well healed codgers.

That’s going to be my next boat. Have you seen some of these toons? I got smoked by one in my old jet boat. This guy had a 496 HO 425 HP toon and smoked my 425 HP Jet boat.

Very few will beat my current boat it’s pushing 1250 HP on race fuel and around 900 HP on pump gas

Lordy, your watercraft sounds like it could orbit the moon. 1250HP kind gives new meaning to open water boating.

She ran 143.6 at Firebird way back in 2000 before the owner of the manufacturer passed.

Awesome!! I'm not into it per say, but I do think it is an awesome hobby. I appreciate your passion for it. Closest I can relate is that I jet-ski. LOL

Speaking of which, looking forward to some warm weather!

I’m sure its a blast though!

All I do is work, gym, Cowboys my dogs and boating lol. I live for boating though. I could never imagine not owning a boat I gotta be honest. Obviously as I get older the speed and big power is not as important, so I’ll end up downsizing and just buying a cruiser of some sort I guess.

The GF does the trailer thing... It’s pretty hot watching this tiny blonde in this big lifted truck and long *** trailer just handle the trailer. We are on the trailer and hooked up in under 30 seconds and she doesn’t have to exit the truck. She’s a beast with it. Now having her try and shift the boat in and out of gear with a blower motor? Yea not so much... Gears grinding, boat stalling (not as much after converting to EFI), but still funny.
