FMIA: The Scourge of Draft Desperation and The Combine Without a Sure Thing

My conversation with Jeremiah, and trip to the Combine, is my start of draft season. I know many of you are into the October Mock Draft scene. I’m not. So, many of you are waaaaay ahead of me entering the Combine. I hope some of my elementary stuff won’t bore you.

The Combine/early draft headlines:

It’s not a great draft for sure things. So it’s not a great draft at the top. “It doesn’t have maybe what we’ve had in years past, in terms of the elite, high-end players,” Jeremiah said. “I love Jalen Carter. I love Will Anderson. Those are my top two players. After that, I think there’s holes and questions on just about everybody.” The question is, will that make teams less desperate to move up? The answer has two months to develop, but I doubt it. Teams usually fall in love with players the closer we get to the draft.

I'm throwing this in here for reference .....lol

The quarterbacks will take a lot of study. Jeremiah: “Five of them, I think, are gonna end up being starters. But they all have flaws. They all have holes. There’s not a Trevor Lawrence. There’s not a Joe Burrow. There’s not an Andrew Luck. But while there’s risk involved, I think these guys have really, really high upside across the board.” The four likely to go in round one:

I getting more and more of a feeling Bijan Robinson to the Eagles either at 10 or trading down a few spots. God knows I hope I'm wrong but this kid, this selection has Howie Roseman written all over it.

Possibly. I think they really like Gainwell and their defense is in need of more starters.

But you know Howie. He will trade #10, to drop down to #13, gain a first next year and the following then get Robinson at 13 lol

They never take a running back in the 1st rd. It is always the trenches and either receiver/corner. I would be really shocked if they spent a high pick on a running back. Look at the success they had, with average runners with Hurts, makes little sense.

There is like a .0002% chance that happens. Philly simply doesn't view TBs like that. It's the same with LBs. They just don't use first round picks on LBs and TBs.

Now, having said that, with two number ones, they could take a TB with that second pick. But they love OL and DL and there are likely to be a few of those there at 10 that they can nab. They value them way more than TBs.

Are you saying Howie is a little better than Jerry Jones ?
