As of Saturday, it’s 40 days and counting until the NFL draft.
But for Patrick Peterson, it might as well be 400 days. That’s how long it must seem between now and April 28 for LSU’s All-American, who could become the first cornerback to be the first overall pick in the draft.
For Peterson, the NFL combine is over. So is LSU’s Pro Day, which came and went Monday with the native of Pompano Beach, Fla., being the center of attention even if he participated in individual drills only.
