Seems about right. Odd game from Overshown where me made some huge splash plays, but also had three missed tackles and also looked oddly bad playing coverage which I typically think hes pretty good at. The grade for Richards may not do him justice either. He did have a few whiffs in the run game but overall played very well. I'd be very interested to see how he would do with more snaps under his belt.

Mazi had a TFL which probably drives his grade. Watching him, he seems pretty inconsistent. There are plays where he anchors well and can move with the play. Then there are plays where he is driven 2 to 3 yards off the ball

I thought Smith played pretty well, TBH. He was pretty stout at the LOS, and showed some grit.

I was watching him because he was starting for Guyton. Overall I thought he did a pretty good job and think his run blocking grade should be higher. And he didn't have the penalties Guyton does either.
Yeah the more I watch his tape from last night the more I like Richards. He moves very well and seems to be able to run those zone blocks better than any other T on the roster. He got beat pretty bad a couple times (1:52 Q2) (13:48 Q3), both by Jalen Carter which will happen to anyone with enough reps.

I want to be careful due to the small sample size, but from just the tape he put out yesterday he looked to be the best T on the roster.

Agreed, seemed to be one of his better games, which isnt setting the bar very high, but he had 31 snaps and most of them productive. Hes had a few of those games now with New York and Pittsburgh games also. Still need him to be more consistent because having 3 good games out of 9 isnt anything to brag about, but at very least hes showing he can play in this league.

My quick take:

I don't understand the Overshown grade. He had 11 tackles, 8 solo and 2 sacks. Seems a grade in the 50's is harsh.

Carson should lose his job.

Zeke needs to be cut

How does Cooper Rush score a 30? That grade should be in the single digits.

Did overshown miss a dozen tackles I am not aware of? They graded hm a 31.5 in tackling

PFF grades are meant to be taken with a grain of salt. Much like WAR in baseball, they are fine to start the conversation, they are just not meant to be the WHOLE conversation. If you watched the game, you know what you saw.

A lot of times, PFF shows us what we don't see as fans bc our attention is focused on the ball. If you want to pick a bone with them, it should be over how they weight all plays equally. Overshown might get a sack that stops a drive, but miss a tackle on first down. The 2 plays may cancel each other out for a neutral grade.

Marist Liufau is often bumped for packages Zim is installing , yesterday he recovers a fumble . Obviously Overshown is a bright future I don’t think Kendrick’s who looks undersized at that position plus age is any kind of 2025 count on .

Clark won’t get a 2nd contract , this position ( LB ) needs serious help in the draft . Liufau on a 3-6 club needs to play needs reps .

If Mazi could fix his slow get off, and learn to shed blocks, he could be something. But those are two very fundamental things a DT should know how to do in the NFL. Still, not a bad grade for him.

That's EXACTLY what I'm seeing - I see a guy too busy trying to show how strong he is one-on-one instead of grabbing the guy and throwing him out of the way. He could be winning SOOOO MANY of these battles. Still getting washed out by most double teams though.

Mazi's problems still speak of technique and coaching..either he cant absorb coaching or the coaches dont understand what he needs.

Beebe and Martin were getting physically abused by Carter when left one on one. The number of times we doubled-teamed Davis and left Zack one on one with Carter in pass protection was criminal. Davis should be doubled teamed on rush plays and Carter double teamed on pass plays.

Good to see someone that understands this.
