Fergi, Schoon and BSF look like a pretty decent TE room. And on the cheap, just like big and little Enos like it

How did Rico Dowdle get a 67.1 when he ran for 112 with a TD and a 5.1 avg?
For whatever it’s worth a 67 from PFF is a solid RB just not a great one, which I think most people would agree is fairly accurate if Dowdle.

This is maybe the best run blocking grades the cowboys have been given from PFF all year too, so I would have to believe in their film review they concluded that a lot of that success gets credited to the OL.

I haven’t done a full rewatch of dowdle yet but In watching the interior OL they really did have a great game. My guess is they may have been a little harsh on dowdle but it may not be too far off.

Bland after missing all year ranked third in defense on the list . Wonderful he’s back . Need both Bland & Diggs , Lewis all healthy for the Bengals passing game .

Carl Lawson again ranked right up there . This FO better resign him as Edge in 25 it’s one less DL you have to go out and find . He’s a veteran with skins on the wall from 2 other stops .

have very little respect for PFF and I am looking at the Overshown numbers and I say BS
Honestly despite the big plays he made I really can't say PFF is wrong on his grade. I've only done a complete deep dive on the 1st half of the defense so far, but Overshown was a mixed bag in this game from what I've watched. He has been a total impact player sideline to sideline when he isnt missing tackles, but he still struggles as a north/south LB. Both in the run and pass game if an OL get their hands on him he's done. He has actually been a major help in getting the run game under control as he is executing these gap exchange concepts beautifully with the DEs, something he wasnt doing well at all earlier in the year.

The one area I might push back on PFF here is his coverage grade only being a 39. I'm not seeing many issues other than him being slow to cover in the flat. Most of his coverage snaps are just him standing in his zone with no one around him. This could be his issue though has they probably give him a 0 for those snaps and then penalize him hard for the two bad plays he had. It could just be a sample size issue.

Q1
9:43 - Is in on the tackle to clean up, but a bad read jumping into the A gap leaves the B open. 4 yard gain for NY (minus)
9:06 - Easily blocked out of the play (Minus)
8:29 - Pass play Quick out pass to flats - no grade
7:52 - Strong side run, Easily shielded out of the play (Minus)
7:18- QB Sneak, jumps on pile (No grade)
6:05 - Pass play, Coverage on #29, Receiver falls down (no grade)
5:22 - Presnap motion makes him Mike, decent gap fill (Plus)
4:46 - Slightly slow to read/fill but makes the tackle after 2 yards (Plus)
4:07 - Lined up at outside CB to cover RB, runs the go route with RB (Plus)
3:32 - Pass play, Covering RB, but RB stays in to chip (No grade)
3:28 - Pass play, lined up in A gap on LOS, No pressure created, falls down creating running lane for QB for 29 yard gain (Minus)
3:09 - Goal line - no attempt to fill and is 3 yards in the end zone when ball carrier scores a TD (Minus)

Q2
11:37 - Pass play, rushing from weak side off T, is unblocked, blows up RB on PA, tipped pass, INT, TD (Plus)
11:29 - Pass lay, in coverage, no receiver in his zone, good speed to get in on the tackle (Plus)
10:56 - In on the tackle for 4 yard gain, slow to read and fill, good recovery to bounce back out and get in on the play (Plus)
10:18 - Pass play - quick pass to flat (No grade)
9:50 - Pass play - shows rush in A gap, drops into coverage (Plus)
7:15 - Lined up weak side, DE bounces in so Overshown has contain, unblocked but played beautifully and made tackle for 2 yard gain (Plus)
6:35 - Pass play, in coverage, Slow to cover the RB, but a bad throw goes incomplete, tough to tell what the outcome would have been with a better throw (Neutral)
6:32 - Pass play, shows A gap rush, drops back no one in zone (No grade)
5:12 - Stretch run to weak side, Overshown does a nice job moving with the OL laterally going from outside the left hash to make the tackle outside the opposite hash mark (Plus)
4:13 - DE gets blocked down, contain shifts to Overshown, Reads play well, good use of hands to avoid block, makes tackle for 2 yards (Plus)
1:50 - Pass play, showing A gap rush, rushes, no pressure created (Minus)
1:44 - Pass play, Coverage, no one in his zone (no grade)
1:41 - Pass play, Coverage, no one in his zone (no grade)
1:05 - Pass play, pass to RB in flat, Overshown missed tackle, gain of 15 (Minus)
:59 - Pass play in coverage, no one in his zone (no grade)
:53 - Pass play, coverage, DPI on Butler - NO PLAY
:50 - Pass play, coverage, lined up on RB playing outside CB, No receiver in zone (No grade)
:46 - Pass play, delayed rush, Picked up by RB w/ no impact on play (Minus)
:40 - Pass play, man coverage on TE (Plus)
:33 - Pass play, A gap blitz, Horrible rush, C puts him on the ground (minus)

the biggest disappointment of this season is Guyton, there was so much hope after preseason but he is not getting better and we cannot afford him to be a bust, maybe see if he can play well at RT consistently.
