Offensive spotlight: After a hot first half, Cooper Rush cooled down a bit in the second half. Nonetheless, he was able to lead the Cowboys offense down the field and into field goal range with less than two minutes left to secure the victory. Ultimately, Rush finished 19 of 31 for 235 passing yards and a touchdown. Rush definitely wasn't perfect, finishing with two turnover-worthy plays, but he played way above expectation, totaling two big-time throws, and led Dallas to victory in Dak Prescott‘s absence.

Noah Brown also deserves recognition, as he was Dallas' most productive receiver on the day, catching all five of his targets for 91 yards and a touchdown. All five of Brown's receptions resulted in either a first down or touchdown, and he went two-for-two on his contested catch opportunities.

Defensive spotlight: The Bengals had no answer for the reigning NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, as Micah Parsons was simply unblockable all afternoon for the Cowboys defense. While Parsons did most of his best work against Bengals right tackle La'el Collins, he also secured a sack against left tackle Jonah Williams. Altogether, Parsons finished with seven pressures, two sacks, three pass-rush wins that didn't result in a pressure and a pass-rush win rate north of 25% on first review

Basically what he did at OSU. He just needed his opportunities.

Someone told me in another thread that Rush was lucky he didn't throw at least 4 picks yesterday. Said PFF tracks it.

Well seems like that poster was talking out his butt.

I attribute this to the play-calling; felt like Moore took the foot off the accelerator once the lead was padded. This is a huge issue I have with Moore (or maybe it's McCarthy?).

That was my impression. It was almost like all the confidence Moore showed in Rush in the first half evaporated into boring, predictable play calling.

Rush was okay but in the 2nd half he threw some wounded ducks, had a pass or two batted down, and struggled a little. But he came through when it counted. They won.

I would like to see how he does next week once teams have a chance to study some film on him.

What's crazy is that this is Brown's sixth season with the team. Dude knows the playbook at wideout better than anyone else on the team.

I think Cooper was surprisingly good in the first half, but if he was Dak, his second half performance would be getting a lot more criticism. He threw some awful passes in the 2nd half and almost threw the game away.

I am not surprised Rush to Brown was a bog winner on Sunday. I bet Rush has thrown more passes to Brown in practice than Dak has.

Micah is incredible rushing the passer and you could see that Burrow began rushing his throws, especially on 3rd downs, because of Micah. I have yet to see an OT who does not struggle with him, but give Quinn credit too. He finds ways to get Micah one on one with blockers and he is going to win those battles more than not. If Sam Williams develops into a pass rush threat the Cowboys defense is going to be dominating against the pass.

Noah Brown balled. No question.

I didn't think much of his Tampa game, as most of his production came against 4th quarter prevent and a defense just trying to salt the game away. But in this one, he was winning one-on-one jump balls downfield against CBs who were trying.

Almost doesn't count and lets not forget how atrocious Dak played in the opener.... in both halves. Cooper got the team off to a fast start, made the throws he had to make, and came up big in crunch time getting the team into FG range for a game winner. And its not like he was playing the Skins or Giants...... he just beat the defending AFC champs. Give him some props b/c I don't think Dak Prescott wins that game.

This is a fair criticism. Its likely CIncy had no idea what to expect in the first half.
