Cliffnotes:
"Dak Prescott's interception total and accuracy rate paint different pictures: The Cowboys' signal-caller recorded the lowest catchable but inaccurate throw rate yet tossed 15 picks in 12 games.

Prescott recently caught heat for vowing to throw fewer than 10 interceptions in 2023. In the 2022 regular season, he tied for the league lead with 15 interceptions despite playing 12 games. With the exception of Matt Ryan, every quarterback to throw at least 10 interceptions played at least 15 games.

Those 15 interceptions are a bit deceiving, though. Two of them were positively graded throws, including the walk-off pick-six against the Jaguars. Another three were zero-graded. It seems like wishful thinking that Prescott will stay under 10 interceptions in a 17-game season (he was one of 14 quarterbacks to throw at least 10 picks in 2022), but given that he was the second-most accurate passer in standard accuracy and the top quarterback in avoiding catchable but inaccurate throws, expect that interception total to at least come down in 2023."

Somehow a dogs behind and the sunshine comes to mind. But Dak can't find that dog in the playoffs and catch that ray. Every now and then is just Then. And the blind squirrel starves with no nut and the earliest bird finds no worm.

A bit weird since this ranking essentially depends on assuming that the WR is in the correct spot, which for us last year is a pretty loose assumption. Still the catchable but inaccurate should concern folks since the WCO is all about accurate plus, unless these were driven by downfield throws.

He threw the lowest catchable but inaccurate rate in the entire league so this would actually bode well for a WC style offense.

The bottom line is that year in and year out, Dak is rated one of the most accurate passers in the league. I think his interceptions don't usually tend to come from inaccurate balls, but accurately thrown balls that come out late and should never be thrown in the first place.

Agreed on the interceptions but why would catchable but inaccurate bode well for the WCO when YAC is so fundamental to it working?

What I am saying is that he does not throw catchable but inaccurate balls. It was stated he throws them at the lowest rate in the league. Generally that is a good thing because most interceptions are generated on balls that are inaccurate but still within range of a receiver, which is where DBs tend to be located.

You get more YAC when your QB can deliver an accurate, catchable pass which allows the receiver to easily catch it and move up field. An inaccurate but catchable ball usually results in a receiver laying out to catch it or falling down afterwards. Not good from a YAC perspective.

Where's the data to support year in and year out the most accurate passer? This data sure doesn't support it.

That’s good. Notice how the number is ascending and not descending. Those are the lowest %’s in the league who had passes that were both inaccurate and uncatchable. Matt Ryan and Daniel Jones because they wouldn’t throw beyond 10 yards, Hurts and Burrow because with their receiving corps nothing is uncatchable, but Dalton is a bit of a surprise.

The short version of this one as follows.....
Don't believe your eyes just go with the spaghetti Tweet that proves Dak's greatness.
Stats stats stats stats(mostly against dog teams if they're true at all that is?) and forget the horrors on offense Dakchoka has shown you esp in games that count the most.
Looking forward to when Dak receives one day his HOF jacket...... :muttley:

I know it is weirdly worded but you actually want to be number 1 in that category (well all of them you would). Basically they are saying those 5 QBs threw the least number of uncatchable and inaccurate throws by percentage in the NFL.

I love how your only argument against him is to strawman him as though all QBs are HoF or a scrubs. It does require ignoring that the scouts, GMs, and coaches seem to also have Dak as a top 10 QB. Basically do not believe the experts who get paid to know players, do not believe the numbers that seem to support this assessment, but believe random fans because they know better.
