A.J. Hawk would be open to a trade
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on September 15, 2010 8:49 PM ET
A.J. Hawk's agent wants to make it clear his client his asking for a trade. But he wouldn't mind leaving town either.

"A.J. is a pro's pro and wants to do his part to help the team win, and his first priority is to be the best Packer he can," Hawk's confusingly named agent Mike McCartney told Rob Demovsky of the Green Bay Press-Gazette. "But if some team called and wanted him to play on all three downs, I think he'd be excited about that."

Hawk didn't play a snap on defense last week because the Packers played in nickel and dime packages every single down. So it's not a shock he wants to get on the field. Just don't expect to happen.

AJ Hawk-LB- Packers Sep. 15 - 9:04 pm et

The agent for Packers ILB AJ Hawk told the Green Bay Press-Gazette that his client would be open to a trade.

"If some team called and wanted him to play on all three downs, I think he’d be excited about that," said agent Mike McCartney. McCartney did say Hawk's "first priority is to be the best Packer he can," but Hawk didn't even play a non-special teams snap in the opener after losing his spot in the nickel defense. The Bills did just lose ILB Paul Posluszny, and Green Bay needs a running back.

He is about as good of a fit for the 3-4 as Carpenter was. He's just not physical enough.

Over my head... fill me in.

Well there was this one crappy linebacker we used to have and then there was this thread full of win going on and... yeah I don't really know.

At least Carpenter could cover. Apparently A.J. Hawk cannot. :muttley:

Does Ohio State ever produce any good linebackers? :lmao2:

Question. Does this mean Carpenter was less of a bust since he was picked lower than Hawk? :laugh2:
