Former Favre receiver could be joining the Vikings
Posted by Mike Florio on August 20, 2010 2:06 PM ET
Wideout Javon Walker hasn't done much since leaving Green Bay after the 2005 season. And one of his best seasons came the prior year, when his quarterback was Brett Favre.

Now, the two men could be reunited in Minnesota. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Walker is working out for the Vikings.

The history between Favre and Walker includes some rough patches. When Walker was clamoring in 2005 for a Randy Moss-style contract, Favre made his position clear on the matter -- he wanted Walker to get his *** in line.

If signed, Walker would provide depth to a receiving corps that has been hampered by a hip injury to Sidney Rice and ongoing migraine struggles by Percy Harvin.

so zoners, is rice and harvin more seriously injured than we know?

It's easy to see why the Vikings are digging through the dumpster for old Brett Favre buddies.

Vikings No. 1 receiver Sidney Rice tested his hip on Friday and continues to feel pain. Rice told Chip Scoggins of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune that it's now "up in the air" whether he'd would be back in time for the season opener.

I seem to somewhat recollect this. Wasn't Walker holding out of GB training camp........

FAVRE: Walker is selfish

This is from 2005. How ironic.

This section is most telling:

"Maybe I'm old-school, but I always thought you honor a contract. Sure, sometimes guys pass you up in salary, and maybe it's a lesser player, but it's all based on what a team has as far as value in that person. "I sure hope the Packers don't give into him," Favre said.
