We will see but if it's anything, I would guess it is healthy-related.

Jerry Jones’s Scouting Combine silence sparks plenty of speculation

Published March 2, 2025 10:59 AM

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones loves to talk about his team, because the more he talks about the Cowboys, the more the media talks about the Cowboys.

That made his decision to not talk at all during the Scouting Combine even more confusing.

Most General Managers speak to reporters from one of the various podiums in Indy. Jones typically holds court on his touring bus. This year, he did neither.

The uncharacteristic silence is prompting plenty of speculation. Some are wondering whether the Cowboys are up to something, and that they’re opting for total secrecy from Jerry in order to keep their plan from inadvertently becoming a bacon bit in his latest batch of word salad.

It appears they are simply taking a backseat to the scouts, McClay and Shotty so they can focus on the task at hand. My hunch is they are actually fielding calls, making calls about getting our own guys locked up. Can't rule out anything with Jerry.

I bet he is just pissed that he has become a laughing stock. I would imagine he has been hearing all week smack talk at the combine about -
1) 30 years
2) His terrible last 2 4th round trades and how they are handicapped the team come drafttime.
3) His ineptitude and managing the cap. When other teams can manipulate it so we'll.
4) He does not like playing defense, and probably bristles at the thought of everyone bagging on him.
5) The Samuel's deal for a 5th, shows how bad a negotiator he is - 4th for Mingo, 4th for Lance.
I would hazard a guess he's just thoughly mad at the world right now and left.
I thought he had announced he would speak on Thursday, so something changed.

Or, he's finally doing his job with our free agents : )

Could be the first thing on your list.

I think he is avoiding all the negativity, especially after his ridiculous lie about being all in last year. He's tired of the constant question about the Eagles and Howie Roseman and comparisons of himself to the Eagles and Commanders' GMs.

Or, maybe his family realize his sounds like he got kicked in the head by a mule when he speaks lately and they are trying to spare him further embarrassment.

It could also be that this is a unique draft with lots of depth at positions Dallas desperately needs. But they want a specific player in the first round and don't want to tip their cards hoping he falls to them at 12.

Whatever it is, Dallas are awful liars so the truth will be revealed eventually.

I suspect this and I also suspect it was some things last season he wanted to do but got push back from Stephen. I think Jerry would’ve signed Henry and Stephen brought up money. Just a theory.

Well This Explains It..Jerry Doesn't Hold The Spotlight When Other GM's Are Talking During The
Indy NFL Combine.
