In 2022, USFL MVP KaVontae Turpin became a pleasant surprise for the Cowboys as a return specialist. In 2023, he hopes to become a pleasant surprise on offense in Dallas.

Appearing recently on the Blogging the Boys podcast, via NFL.com, Turpin said his goal for next season is to get the ball more when the Cowboys have the ball.

“We had a talk during my exit meeting, basically saying like they already know what I did with the special teams this year and all that, but they are going to try and get me on the offense and try to make guys respect me more on both sides of the ball,” Turpin said. “I’m going into this training camp, I’m basically trying to show them that they have no choice but to use me on offense, that’s my mindset.”

“I’m a playmaker with the ball in my hand and I can scare guys without the ball,” Turpin said. “Just on the same field together, me and CeeDee Lamb, I just feel like that’s my biggest thing going on, just showing them that they gotta have me on the field.”

Hopefully McCarthy will re-incorporate the quick slant more now that Moore is gone. Turner could convert one or two those into six points next season. Same with Lamb.

The kid is 153 lbs.
What he needs is a cheeseburger.
An Andy Reid-style cheeseburger with fries and a large chocolate shake.

I don’t see why he can’t come in to run a drag route or quick flat. Use the speed for something

Maybe we'll draft another RB or WR capable of taking short passes and stretching them into big gains. What a novel idea!

Any route that doesn't get his head tore off. This man is small but has speed and it's a crime not to get him involved in the passing game. He could take off the top of a defense could he not? Whether by actually throwing to him or as a decoy. We don't really know how good his hands are at this point. We need a larger sample size, so pre season should be his time to show out. Get it done Mike.

I don't think KM knew how to call plays for a smaller receiver that Dak is comfortable throwing the ball.

A summer camp and season were not enough to learn the play book- hopefully the 5 month off season moves him closer. Finding another strategy other than running into the punter in the open field should be added to the list.

Personally, I hope Dallas drafts Deuce Vaughn to play receiver, kick off/punt returner and some running back in the 4th or 5th round.
