Kevin Kolb driven by "proving everybody right"

Some athletes seek motivation in slights, look for bulletin-board material from those who doubt them and strive to prove the critics wrong.
Kevin Kolb is not one of those athletes.
Kolb says that his motivation heading into the 2010 season is to prove that coach Andy Reid and the rest of the Eagles organization made the right move this offseason when they traded Donovan McNabb and anointed Kolb as the starting quarterback in Philadelphia.
"That's my No. 1 focus, going to a Super Bowl and proving everybody right," Kolb tells Mark Eckel of the Times of Trenton. "I'm not trying to prove anyone wrong. I'm trying to prove this organization right for making this move. I know there are a lot of expectations. When you get an extension and you get the starting quarterback position and the franchise, regardless of where you're at, there's a lot of pressure and responsibility. I understand all that.''
Reid showed a lot of faith in Kolb when the Eagles drafted him in 2007, and even more faith when the Eagles made him the No. 1 quarterback. Kolb says he wants to reward Reid's faith in him.
"I think the one thing that it tells me is I have a lot of work to do and you never want to let anybody down,'' Kolb said. "You especially don't want to let somebody down whenever they have put that much faith in you and they've made those moves to make you the guy."
