Norv Turner's halftime speech credited for turning Chargers around
Posted by Michael David Smith on November 1, 2010 12:40 PM ET
The Chargers headed into halftime trailing the Titans 19-14 on Sunday, but they came out of the locker room on fire and dominated the second half on the way to a 33-25 win. After the game, several Chargers players credited a fiery halftime speech from head coach Norv Turner for changing their mindset.

Chargers tight end Antonio Gates told XX Sports Radio that Turner shed tears in addressing the team.

"When I saw Norv crying, I knew it was real," Gates said, per SportsRadioInterviews.com. "This means the world to him. That spoke volumes and it worked. Not to say that guys didn't believe up to that point, but I think he made himself clear."

Note, when tom landry did this in 1965, the team turned around and grew up, should wade do this, break down and cry in front of team? (of course has to be real, cant be staged, either way, wade had better get real angry chew the players out -which wade says he doesnt believe in that, or do what norv turner did). What do you zoners think or is it to late?

He was crying after the game, too. Hey, at least he cares. His team went out there yesterday and fought hard against a good Titans squad. They are missing their top 3-4 receivers, the team is kind of a mess because their GM is an arrogant *****, but here they are poised to make a run.

I would hate for Norv to be the coach here, but at least he hasn't completely lost his team.

If Wade cried in front of the team, I'm afraid he'd come across as pathetic and helpless instead of passionate.

Hard to look that way any more than he already does.

My thoughts exactly. Wade could never do this or even think for a second he could GET away with this.

He would be ROASTED and diced before Thanksgiving.

Scewered even...marinated in his own tears.

Poor dude...nice guy..I like him but a HC he is not.

Why do we need Wade to cry?

We already have criers on the team. Brooking when the score is "ran up"; Choice about playing time. Clearly, the team responds to neither.

So Wade crying would accomplish nothing.
