In five days, a hearing will be held in New York to determine whether Chargers receiver Vincent Jackson will miss six games or three games if is traded during his three-game suspension for violation of the substance-abuse policy. The NFL believes he should; the NFLPA believes he shouldn't.

Either way, word is spreading that the Vikings are the team that hopes to swing a deal for Jackson, if the ultimate absence is only three games.

Source tells me Vikes making a play for V Jack. Not sure if anything eminent. I have NOT confirmed or got a denial from Vikes. #kfan

Hostile, should we put bryan broaddus on this to see if he can find out?

when you read this article, you will not NFL vs NFLPlayersAssociation says this:

NFL and commissioner says Jackson has to serve his 6 game suspension, since he wasnt traded in time. NFL Players association says he shouldnt have to serve 6 games suspension, but only the 3 games suspension. Here' s hoping Vincent Jackson has to serve the full 6 games suspension. so vikes may not have him in time to help them this year.

Also, dont think they can have the court trial now in Minnesotta, where the judge rules in favor over the Williams boys that play for vikes.

yeah im hoping jackson cant play for 6 games and he sticks the vikes for big time money, then leaves the following year, they wont have a top qb after brett retires

and the chargers nail them but good on draft picks, cost them dearly

so vikes cant use vincent jackson till after 6 games, by then maybe too late for them to have home field advantage, and maybe they might not even make playoffs

6 games makes no sense - if it is 6 games then the Charges will get far less for him because they played chicken and lost.

Jackson is a very good WR and he came up big in the big games last year. Favre is the perfect QB for him. Don't think for a minute that other very good vet QBs aren't looking longingly at Minny when Favre goes

With the loss of their top WRs and watching what happened on Thursday, the Vikings would be even dumber than when we raped them if they did not get Jackson.

I know but the chargers GM, cant think of his name right now, but he is a son of a gun. Very stubborn, tough, bent to run things his ways or else he plays hard ball with you.

He is like shanahan, he wont give jackson up for a song, its going to cost vikes if they want him, because the chargers will have a chip in his favor. If the vikes lose another game or 2 within the next 4 games, then vikes will be desperate to get jackson, so then chargers gm will have vikes over a barrel

Vincent Jackson-WR- Chargers Sep. 11 - 8:06 pm et

Profootballtalk.com passes along buzz that the Vikings are interested in trading for Vincent Jackson if an arbitrator keeps his suspension at three games next week.

PFT doesn't cite a specific source, but they're satisfied after "doing some digging" that a local Minneapolis report saying "the Vikings are making a play for Jackson" has legs. An unnamed team worked out a one-year agreement with Jackson last Saturday only to have it shot down by the Chargers. That team is believed to be the Vikes. On a one-year deal, V-Jax makes all the sense in the world for Minnesota.

The rule says 6 games.
The Chargers made the play and have to live with it now.

And who cares what any QB thinks of Minny since the good ones are all under contract. Minny will not be getting a top 5 QB after Favre leaves and has very little shot at a top 10 guy. Their best hope may be Ruthlessraper if Pitt is really sick of his issues.

Trading for a guy that has a pending 6 game suspension is idiotic. He won't have time to develop any chemistry with Favre, but then again, Favre apparently doesn't need chemistry or training camp for that matter.

I could care less who they line up, I just want sweet revenge on that ***, and a run-up of the score for what they did in the playoffs.
