Photoshop guys have a question

I cant seem to change backround colors when I am working with the program,how do I do this. I also have lost the small menus that are on the right of the screen showing what Tools I have used etc. I went to windows and it was checked off at tools. Thanks in advance

1- Open Photoshop

2- In the menu go to Window

3- Go to workspace

4- Click on "Reset Palette Locations"

Regarding the backround you can alway select a trasparent one fill it with the color you want, you can duplicate the layer (ctrl+j) and hide the one you dont want by clicking the eye in the layers box (bottom).
