I am having a really hard time finding a go-to pizza place where I live (Columbus, Oh). I can't do the chain stores like dominos or pizza hut, their pizza is just terrible. I've tried a few of the local joints but nothing that wows me. This one place is good but only teenagers work there so its very inconsistent as they usually don't give a damn about the quality of the pizza, I've eaten there 3 times, once it was awesome, once it was ok, and once it sucked.

I like my pizza with a lot of crust around the outside with the normal amount under the toppings and with very good quality, stretchy cheese. Other than that I just get green pepper and pineapple on it, if I feel like taking it up a notch I'll get ham also.

So I guess the point of this post was to see what your fave pizza places were and get recommendations, either chain pizza or if someone here lives in Cbus with a recommendation that would be awesome too.

For chain pizza? Papa Murphy's isn't bad at all.

Local places obviously wouldn't be where you are. :D

not sure how long it's been since you've had dominos but they recently changed a lot of things on their pizzas and actually are rather good now, if you do try them and you want the type cheese you're describing have them add Shredded provolone to the pizza it's a stretchy cheese. give it a try you may be suprised...

In Tucson the best places are Zachary's, Magpie's, Rocco's, and Grandma Tony's. None are chain places. The only chain pizza I ever really cared for was Godfather's.

Is Papa Murphy's the place where you pick up the cold pizza and bring it home to bake it in your oven? If so, I had that one time and it was truly the best pizza from a franchise that I've ever had. I was surprised.

Yup. That's the stuff. They occasionally have special topping combos on their menu that aren't normally there. They recently had a taco pizza that was pretty amazing.

You are looking for Chicago style pizza.

Say what?

:laugh2: Yeah all my friends call me gross. Most times I just get green pepper, but I also enjoy pineapple, banana peppers, and occasionally ham. I know thats weird but I never really get meat on my pizza besides the occasional ham. I just can't bring myself to get meat on it, the pizza is already bad enough for you and the meat is so salty and fattening that it makes me feel like crap after.

Awesome we have a papa murphys here! I've done the take and bake option from this pizza place where I used to live and it was cool. What's the crust situation like with that pizza? I know it's probably weird but having a decent amount of crust around the edges is a big deal for me and could potentially make or break the pizza.

The only fast food pizza I'll eat is Domino's brooklyn style pizza. Pretty good. Not a fan of their other pizzas though.

We like Domino's or Papa Johns, but they can also vary by location.

I'd look for Italian restaurants that also serve pizza. Chances are good that they will have good pizza.

How do you not like domino's? That new garlic crust is the truth!

They have a bunch of different crust options from thin all the way to stuffed. You can pretty much get whatever you want and everything I've tried has been very good.

I'm almost down 25 lbs, so talking about Pizza sounds good and bad at the same time. I can't think of my favorite though. I guess the question would be which one isn't my favorite?

If anyone ever comes to Long Island and has any questions about the good food places PM me.

For Pizza:

Domincos in Levittown is my personal favorite.

Umbertos in New Hyde Park is very commonly known as the best in NY for its plain & grandma slices. I rarely go there but I personally prefer Domincos as it just has a better vibe to me.

How's it going, R2A? I'm betting the pizza there is better than the pizza here.
