Giants | Burress Injured
Sat, 30 Jul 2005 10:11:29 -0700

Giants.com reports New York Giants WR Plaxico Burress was forced to leave the field late in the first practice of training camp Saturday, July 30, with a hyperextended right knee. Burress was injured when he ran a go route down the left sideline and had to stop and go up for a ball thrown by QB Tim Hasselbeck. Burress banged knees with a defender. "There was an under thrown ball, they went up and got tangled," said head coach Tom Coughlin. "They came down, and right now they are calling it a hyperextended knee and we'll see." Burress is undergoing further tests and evaluation to determine the full nature of his injury.

Burress suffers hyperextended knee in Giants' first practice
July 30, 2005
CBS SportsLine.com wire reports

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Wide receiver Plaxico Burress was taken off the field during the New York Giants' first practice session Saturday morning with what coach Tom Coughlin described as a hyperextended knee.

Burress, the Giants' major offseason acquisition, went up for a long sideline pass from backup quarterback Jesse Palmer and fell to the ground after battling with rookie cornerback Ahmad Treaudo. He grabbed his right leg, then lay on his back for about five minutes while trainers examined him.

Burress later was taken from practice in a golf cart with his right knee wrapped.

The Giants acquired Burress as an unrestricted free agent from Pittsburgh in March. He signed a six-year, $25 million contract that included an $8 million signing bonus.

The sixth-year pro, a first-round draft pick by the Steelers out of Michigan State, has 262 career receptions for 4,164 yards and 22 touchdowns. He is expected to strengthen a Giants passing attack that had the second-fewest touchdown passes in the NFL last season.

You're pissing on the Cowboys as well. Instead of bashing other teams/players you're bashing players on your own team (Henson).

Nice fan, bandwagon-

i'm still wondering if it was hasselback or palmer (?) who threw the bad pass in the first place... anyways, i don't see the manning-buress combination as a big threat to us this year at least.
