Anybody on this forum participate in the game? I've been hooked on it.

The game starts out by loading 100 players into an airplane as you begin to fly over a map. You can choose to jump and parachute any place you would like over the map. Everybody starts with absolutely nothing. You can cruise across the map and you have to loot houses and buildings to try and find weapons, protective gear, vehicles, etc etc. The map is pretty large so you can either be alone or if you jump in a hot spot where a lot of other people jumped and are looting, it can get intense. First person/team to find weapons! As this is all happening, there is a circle that appears on the map. Every few minutes this circle keeps getting smaller and smaller. If you stay outside this circle, you get trapped in this "blue storm" and it will eventually kill you. The purpose of this is to keep pushing people together and keep them moving and from "camping" out. To keep everything fresh, the airplane flight path, weapons and loot item placement, and storm circle changes every single game.

Here is the map. There is only 1 on Xbox (shown) and 2 on PC.

Yes I been playing this for several months and its quite fun. I am a decent player, not horrible but certainly not great as being older my fast twitch skills aren't that of a youngster. Me and a few other guys play and have a little Discord channel set up where we chat/etc. Very fun game. If anyone in the thread is interested in playing pm me and ill give you can add me on Steam.
I know the game has a bad rep for Asian cheaters but ive only experienced this a few times.

I forgot to mention, for those that haven't played it, there is no respawning in the game. Once you are dead, you are out, though you can spectate your team play for as long as they are alive. Last team/person alive wins!!

I play on Xbox JohnnyTheFox or else I would definitely add you.

Yep first person shooter skills help but at least some of it comes down to where to circle goes. I hate the games where you have the best loot/suppressors etc only to see the circle is way across the map.

PUBG is last week's news man! Fortnite is where it's at. Plus it's free. in all seriousness it's all about personal preference between the two. But Fortnite is probably the most popular game on the planet currently. It dominates YouTube gaming and Twitch.

What's up with all the game companies wanting to make 3D games look like cartoons these days? It's as if Blizzard set off a cartoon revolution with World of Warcraft.

I guess realism is too hard for these guys, so they cheap out.

Yeah I forgot to mention that. Overwatch sort of started that trend as well. At least PUBG attempts to be realistic. I am surprised the top ranked gamers in the world are absolutely addicted to Fortnite. It's super cartoon-y for your average hardcore FPS type competitive gamer. Both games are filled with cheaters and if you use a controller even on a console you will get owned because most use mouse and keyboard on PS4. Not sure on Xbox. Speaking of, my Xbox One X is coming in the mail on Thursday!

Yeah I have definitely had my fair share of deaths by the blue storm. I've also had some great games where I have placed in the top percent due to being lucky the circle kind of "followed" me.

You can also build stuff in Fortnite{walls, traps, etc}. Both are good but I prefer PUBG. If you want more realism go PUBG.

Yeah I gave Fortnite a few spins, and while it isn't bad, I also prefer PUBG quite a bit more. The cartoony look of Fortnite is kind of cool on one hand, and kind of lame on the other. I just prefer the more realistic setting.

PUBG is also A LOT slower paced than Fortnite. One of the main issue gamers have with PUBG is that the maps are way too big and the action is few and far between. I partially agree, but that is also because of the realism. I don't know, there is definitely a reason most people are playing Fortnite over PUBG. Building properly in Fortnite also takes WAY more skill than camping and scoping people from afar in PUBG. Honestly I think Fortnite is harder to be a dominate player.

Yeah, I suppose everybody has their preferences. Depending on where you land, I've had both intense and slow game starts on PUBG. The ability to build on Fortnite is a nice twist though, I can admit. Though I wish they had vehicles.

Also, I noticed earlier in the thread you mentioned waiting on an Xbox One X to be delivered. Awesome man. Welcome to the club. I love mine.

PUB is pretty much this.....
Most of your time in game will be spent looting, driving/running, followed by firefights that are over oftentimes very quickly. This can also happen in reverse depending on where you land. :laugh:I got the game on sale for around 21$ and got around 200 hours of game time so far

Anybody play this game on a PC/Console/TV with 4K HDR? Seems to me that the game really dark. I thought maybe it was my setup but I googled it and found quite a few complaints about this. Could be the game that is crushing the darks. Anybody on here experienced this?

Anybody tried the mobile version? It's not bad actually. The controls are a little clunky at first but they started feeling more natural to me as the game progressed. Anyways, fun to play if you're bored and laying in bed or something. Works great on my Samsung Galaxy S8+. :)

Agreed. Was kinda cool with Borderlands but was overused and now looks like Disney characters to me no matter how cool their abilities are. Like Ratchet and Clank vibe, etc.
