Any poker players? Gonna head out in a while to play poker with a group of my old assistants. They used to let me win when I was their boss. We'll see what happens now that I've retired. They'll probably get their revenge. Lol!

I use to play quite a bit, mostly tournaments and did well.

Lately I have been trying to play more cash games, but will win $900 one night than lose $500 the next 2.

Just can't seem to adjust my strategy to win more consistently.

I used to play all the time. Love the cash games at the local casino in Tampa. Played with Montel Williams a few years ago in Tampa. Some local yocal said, "anyone ever tell you, you look like Montel Williams?" Montell replied, "yea my mom every day." He would not let me take a picture of him.

There are time when you push and you know your card is going to come with no doubt. Other times you push knowing it is the right thing to do and either you are know you are not going to get your card or your opponent is going to pull the one card out of the deck to beat you.

Love the game tho when the cards are running your way.

Love poker and am putting more energy this last season with the way our team has been playing (little bit of apathy). Always played NL, Omaha Hi, and now am picking up more mixes games; Omaha H/L, Stud Hi/Lo, even Razz (stud but the low is the nuts). I used to go to Atlantic City a lot before we got casinos in the DMV area.

Cash poker and tournament poker are two different animals. I will call a guy I put on AK/AQ (strong high cards basically) with 8/6 off suit in a cash game bc I know the flop/turn will gauge if he lets A high go. In a tournament, I wouldn't hesitate to toss the 8/6 garbage; outside of mixing it up in a relatively low pot or to win the blinds, etc. Cash games are more about learning what to do with bottom/middle pairs and making tougher lay downs. Then your head will get swollen and start making "hero calls" by outsmarting yourself. Five minutes to learn but a lifetime to master. :D

Well, I probably don't have any useful advice but I will tell you this. I spent half my money on gambling, alcohol, and wild women. The other half I wasted.......

I didn't think that one up, I think that one was W.C. Fields but it's still true!

It's funny! There was one guy that never worked for me, it came down to me and him and he won. I beat all my guys, I think they still let me win.
The ringer sounds like he was the only one with some game to him incl yourself; you know how it is in poker, you're sometimes in coin-flips, but hopefully not calling into one (calling w/ 50/50 shot unless pot odds are insane is generally a bad move unless winning big/high stack in a tournament), but getting all poker nerd on ya :) They wouldn't let you win Coach, bunch of football guys don't just leave that competitive spirit/pride @ the door ;)

I've been playing on Global Poker lately. The games are amazing. You guys should check it out.
Is Global Poker set up like Ignition with anonymous users or with player ID's? That's the one aspect that really irks me as you don't know if you have bots @ the table, etc.

Player IDs. Pretty reliable, Javascript based software. I like it a lot. They advertise heavily on Facebook, so lots of fun players.

They've got it set up where you buy play money, but they credit you for "sweepstakes" cash, where you can play cash games. Kind of a roundabout way to make it legal.

Huh, interesting how they found that loophole and sounds cool (player IDs). Will check it out and appreciate the info CB.
