Both are 6 feet tall and 210 - 220 lbs. I would love to see the new offense, "about 30%" different from last year, involve Pollard a lot more as a receiving RB. I know many have posted similar thoughts, but it was never going to happen with Kellen Moore.

I see today where Austin Ekeler is supposedly seeking a trade. It could just be salary negotiations or it could have something to do with the fact Kellen Moore never used Pollard as a true weapon and Ekeler sees the writing on the wall. I know that's speculation, but it's the off season...

West coast offense - I remember Roger Craig having both 1,000 yards rushing and receiving in a single season (1985 I believe). Could we see something similar with Pollard in a true west coast offense this year?

No, not even a little. Craig was a physical high knees running beast. I would say he had more in common with a young elliot

Agreed. But, I'm more looking at the role he will play in the west coast offense. I think he can be that 1,000 yard rushing and 600+ yard receiving back everyone hoped for. Just my two cents...
He should get that easily with more work. But I think they should keep him and his touches where he was at last yr. Keep him fresher for the playoffs when it matters.

Not sure Pollard would get enough touches for that. Long season + playoffs.

Not no, but Hell no.

Back in the late 80's the company I worked for hired a guy named Craig Birdsong. He was previously with the Houston team that ended up the Titans as a DB. He played for North Texas up in Denton.

I asked him once who was the toughest guy to tackle. He didn't hesitate. He said Roger Craig was like hitting a fire hydrant running full speed. You didn't want to hit him low because his legs were like diesel pistons. And there wasn't much but shoulder pads high.

I never tried to tackle him, so I am going on second hand news. But from what he said about Craig, I doubt Pollard comes close with that power.

I’m not saying their running styles are similar. I’m hoping we utilize Pollard in both the passing and running game. I’m hoping we can figure out how to execute a screen pass. I’m hoping we can find ways for Dak to use Pollard as his outlet and limit interceptions. Pollard has the potential to do what Roger Craig did in the west coast offense - be a dual threat. I completely understand they don’t have similar running styles.

Pollard as starter will not make it through the season.
We seen the last 2 years with an increased work load, he has been injured both year, even though not too bad. Until the broken ankle.

We seen Zeke injured as well the past 2 seasons.
They still need to draft a RB and look to the future even if somehow they keep Zeke.

I remember watching Craig run, and Pollard does not have that power. As mentioned, Zeke in his earlier years did, maybe even more.
However we may not have seen all of Pollard's power, and did Zeke lose all that much, based off the OL play and play calling.

Neither Pollard nor Zeke can handle it alone, especially with 17 games now.

I think Pollard will do great in WCO, expect Dallas to use draw plays and a lot more passes to the RB. Also would add FB has been a staple of the McCarthy offense.
