Pollard should be used in hot routes & dump offs during blitzes

This notion that if a RB can’t pass protect he is incomplete is pure old stubborn thinking in scheming. Tony Pollard should be the primary hot route or dump off when Chicago blitzes or put pressure on Dak. Instead of trying to block and letting slow TEs & WRs get only 5 yards Pollard can take hot route for 25+ yards or even a TD. I want TP on the field for every position stretching and shredding the Bears defense non-stop.

Bingo. Screens. Quick passes 1/1 vs Line backer. Get him ball in space!!!!! Same with Turpin.

Exactly instead of trying to block, go replace the vacant spot blitzer is coming from and shake some defenders for a big gain.

Picking up the blitzer can be the difference between a 4 yard checkdown and a 40 yard kill shot. Depends on what your OC is scheming downfield.

....then I'd have to ask, why is Zeke shredded on this board because he isn't a scatback? If TPollard can't block, at some point in the game, Cooper Rush will be warming up again and many will be mad at Dak because he gets hurt.

JMO, but it seems to me that Dallas runs a lot of plays from someone's playbook that apparently worked for them, but doesn't evaluate and run plays that work to the strengths of their players.

Summed up, Dallas seems inconsistent because they don't evaluate their own players strengths and the other teams players strengths. At least this is my opinion of what I see on a weekly basis.

Pollard should be used like Sean Payton used Alvin Kamara when Kamara was wrecking the league.

Pollard has Kamara-level burst and the fact that Moore can't get him the ball in space is a travesty.

Hot routes call for the receiver to run to the area the blitzer vacated. The blitzer will typically be a linebacker either up the A-gaps or off the edge. If it's up the middle getting the ball to a back over the middle is a challenge because if the back doesn't hit the blitzer he's going to be on your QB about a nanosecond after the ball gets there. If it's off the edge same thing.. Because Pollard isn't great at blocking even when he puts everything he has into it, getting him to make an effective block on the way out into the pattern might be asking too much. As for screens? Frankly this team has not executed the screen worth a damn in several years.

I don't get the failure to run good screens. They have lineman that can move.

I want to see hendershot running more screens. He had one the other day.

The team also needs to stick to running the ball consistently for four qtrs. Need to wear them down early so they are half second slower in the 2nd half for big explosive plays.
