As per the draft only, I would agree. I was disappointed. Not saying Mazi was a bad pick. This team has been lacking a BIG, STRONG run stopper at DT since Russell Maryland. I wish this team could have traded back but listening to what other teams were trying to do, moving up like Chiefs and Raiders because they wanted Mazi, doesn't bother me as much.

Once again, this franchise adores taking a TE in the 2nd rd. Safe to say, majority of Cowboys fans are ticked at taking Schoonmaker. Nothing against the player but AGAIN, trade down and get more picks, then grab him.

In the 3rd, Overshown was an alright pick. LVE is not the answer at MLB. Seems to guess and his neck issues are always going to be there.

Still not sure what this team is going to do @ LG. Something tells me Cowboys are not done. This team stinks at finding OL in later rounds to develop. It is either get the OL in the 1st round or Dallas struggles. Can't keep repeatedly, using all your 1st rd draft capital on OL. Have to spread that resource around in all areas of your team. Can't always take a WR in the 1st rd either.

Let's remember that Dallas used draft capital in trades to get Brandin Cook and Stephon Gilmore. Yes, they are only signed for one year and you can't build a franchise with one year deals with giving away draft pieces.

Being a Dallas fan since 1977, to see this franchise DROUGHT of not even getting to a NFC Conference game in 3 decades is disheartening. Yes, you have those, on this board, are tired of hearing this statement and much as we are tired of lack of success on the field. But until franchise can get to that game, I will continue NOT NOT NOT give the front offense/draft "experts" much credit because it is not producing the success on the field. Sure, in Forbes Magazine but not on the field.

It’s still not as perplexing a TE pick for me as cement shoes Fasano or do absolutely nothing well Escobar (RIP).

Terrence Newman was to the month, the exact same age as Schoon when drafted, and he was taken top five overall.

Ha fair point, but also Newman played til he was about 40. What was Witten when he hung it up? Mid 30s. I think the age is fine, we likely aren’t keeping him much past one contract as shown by Schultz and the relative ease to find a rookie with comparable skills.

Right, and 58 was probably a reach, but there was no way of knowing if he would have lasted until 90.
