One more game like that one and Moore get's a spot...possible that Free may join Ellis on PUP, not really liking that back up center spot with Procter, and nobody really impressed me behind Ferguson...I'd like to get a look at Spears there when Hatcher comes back.

We can't go into the season without a backup NT.

Not sure we keep two FB'S

Not sure Procter is a NFL Center

Not sure Carpenter even dresses gameday again inside.

Ellis makes opening day Roster

Don't sell Nate Jones short

I was really impressed with Matt Moores' play! He did pretty good! I hope they can keep him somehow.

Mr 5Stars you have a good eye for talent...;) Matt Moore, in my opinion, seems like a great candidate to keep around and Groom!!!!

You have got to be kidding...Carpenter had a good game last night and anyone saying otherwise has an agenda or knows absolutely nothing about football.

And I clearly mentioned Spears backing up at NT, as well.

He seemed very focused and accurate, aside from a few throws, but those might have been because of the recievers not adjusting to how he works...but, man, I'll tell you...we have some SERIOUS depth on this team!

I would almost bet that the 2nd squad of this team might be able to beat some of the NFL's other teams!

I stood there and was amazed at how good all the players look...

I know, it's just pre-season...but from what I saw last night? We got a team on our hands!!

I was impressed w/the 2nd team as well, esp. Moore. Good backups. Still concerned w/backup center and nose Guard.

The center position is a little concern for me, but the nose is not really a concern because of the new scheme where Furgenson does not have to play man to man...if he gets dinged I think someone else on the team right now can take is spot until he gets healthy again....

;)

Hold on now. Ellis practiced - albeit for only 10 minutes the first day of camp -- if he practiced, then he can't go on PuP

Why? :laugh2:

If you don't practice first, 10 minutes or an freaking hour...how would you know if he was still injured?

Are you saying that during camp if a vet player gets injured he can't go to the PUP?

Not correct, it's anytime until the 65 cutdown.

I love the idea and I would hope it works it would allow us a nice little rotation

It is my understanding that PUP is only for players that have not passed an initial physical allowing them to practice (for even 1 second) in training camp. Apparently Ellis passed his opening camp physical.

Stanback & Coleman would be eligible for PUP.

i doubt moore would make it through waivers to get stashed on the practice squad.. there just are not enough quarterbacks to go around in the league. i think he sticks.

That is totally and completely incorrect. If a player has practiced, he can't go on PuP.

That is absolutely the case. PuP is for guys who were hurt in the off-season or came to camp with lingering injuries that left them physically unable to perform. It is for guys who never passed a physical that cleared them to practice.

Laugh all you want but if you search the archives of this forum you will see this is one of the most commonly misunderstood roster move options.

Thanks,abersonc...I was not laughing at you at all, and I really did not know the answer, so if your right...then I just learned something...again.
