10 weeks in. 7 games remaining (8 for teams that had a bye week)

Weekly Disclaimer on this statistical ranking (unlike other biased rankings, no personal opinions)
This does NOT say which QB is "the best"....ONLY how they have played so far this year.

"Combined Stats" just means using two key stats that --when combined--almost always point to the QBs having the best season (the eventual All-Pros, MVPs, etc)

Those stats are:
1) Standard QB Passer rating
2) Total TDs (Rushing and Passing) - Total Turnovers (Fumbles lost and Interceptions)

Here are the QB Rankings using Combined Stats after week 10:
(* have had a bye week, ** missed games )
  1. Brady*
  2. Stafford
  3. Prescott**
  4. Cousins* (tied 4th)
  5. Murray** (tied 4th)
  6. Rodgers**
  7. Allen*
  8. Mahomes* (tied 9th)
  9. Wilson**
  10. Burrow*
  11. Wentz
  12. Bridgewater
  13. Herbert*
  14. Hurts
  15. Carr*
  16. Garoppolo*
  17. Ryan*
  18. Tannehill (tied 18)
  19. Mayfield** (tied 18)
  20. M Jones
  21. Jackson
  22. Tagovailoa**
  23. Roethlisberger**
  24. D Jones*
  25. Heinike*
  26. Goff*
  27. Mills*
  28. Brissett*
  29. Darnold**
  30. Lawrence*
  31. Fields** (tied 31)
  32. Z Wilson (tied 31)
Omitted: Siemien, Winston, Taylor, Lance, Dalton, G Smith, Lock, M White, Rush, Love, J Johnson, McCoy, Rudolph, Walker

A few notes

  • Back-to-back stinkers by Stafford knocked him out of the pole position. Brady is back on top

  • Big risers with great week 10 outings were Prescott, Mahomes., and M Jones.
:flagwave:

  • Jackson is turning the ball over a ton this year so far with 13 turnovers (same as Trevor Lawrence!) vs 17 TDs. Yikes

  • Cousins has been surprisingly good, though unspectacular. 19Total TDs vs only 3 turnovers to go with the 6th best Passer Rating

I know we're only about halfway in, but this is the highest Dak has ever been in these statistical rankings this late in the year....including 2016.

Keep it up! These combo stats usually lead to winning football.

Dak has also ascended to #1 in the league in passer rating.. Remember all those arguments last year that Josh Allen was better because he had a higher passer rating.. Dak is what? 12 points higher this year? Crickets on that one guess. Should be fun to see what cockamamie argument the ABD crowd comes up with next.

Yeah, I don't think I'd ever use passer rating all by itself to gauge who is better....including both this year and last year,

If that was the case, Ryan Tannehill would've been the best QB in the league 2 years ago.
Need to combine that stat with total TD/turnover differential to weed out semi-bus-driving, and get at least a little more representative stat.

By the way, that is looking great for Dak this year (so far) too. Strong in both areas.

I don't see how you can weigh them equally when the passer rating incorporates TD's and INT's.

The only thing passer ratings don't include is fumbles. To be fair, if the fumbles are considered in ranking QB's so then must rushing yardage and rushing TD's also be included. Otherwise, running QB's are unfairly scored when they fumble the ball during a run.

How good is Stafford when he has to run to get the 1st down? Dak has more rushing yardage and rushing TD's in his six years than Brady has in his 20 seasons.

Rushing and passing TDs are included……Total TDs - Total Turnovers……

if there is a huge differential, then that QB is delivering the goods.
Its very possible to have a high passer rating and drive the bus.
But you cant have a high PR and also a high differential and also be a bus driver.
