I'll once again repeat the intro from previous weeks....
I have done this for the last few years.
It pretty much delivers the league MVP every year. That was mainly why I started it

Don't get too worked up over this. Just data.

Combine and average the QBs' rank of the following two categories and tally.
  1. Differential: Total TDs (Passing/Rushing TDs ) - Total Turnovers ....This reduces bus-driving a little bit
  2. Standard NFL Passer Rating

This is where we stand after 17weeks (16 games)
  1. Mahomes (AFC Pro Bowl...MVP front-runner?)
  2. Hurts (NFC Pro Bowl...MVP candidate, missing late season games may hurt)
  3. Burrow (AFC Pro Bowl...MVP candidate..has really turned it on)
  4. Tagovailoa (injuries hurt his chances)
  5. Allen (AFC Pro Bowl, maybe MVP candidate but long shot...imo)
  6. G Smith (NFC Pro Bowl....career year, by far)
  7. Goff (has had a very good year, prob deserves NFC Pro Bowl ahead of Cousins)
  8. Lawrence (tie 8th...few have played better in the last 7 weeks)
  9. Garoppolo tie 8 ( out for the year, but had a nice year before then)
  10. D Jones (you read that right, I was surprised too)
  11. Brady (climbing)
  12. Cousins (NFC Pro Bowl...two disaster games really hurt him)
  13. PRESCOTT (tie 13th)
  14. Herbert (tied 13th )....
  15. Rodgers (historically low for him)
  16. Jackson
  17. Dalton
  18. Tannehill
  19. Fields
  20. Murray
  21. Carr
  22. Mariotta
  23. Brissett
  24. Heinike
  25. M Jones
  26. R Wilson (his worst season by far)
  27. Wentz
  28. Mayfield
  29. Mills
  30. Z Wilson
  31. Ryan
  32. Pickett

Players not included due to not of enough games played, etc:
Darnold, Purdy (would be 10th if we project, but cant do that), White, Stafford, Rush, K Allen, Huntley, Rypien, Trubisky, Watson, McCoy, Minshew and more...)
Probably should drop Jimmy G in here now but he was so high (and had 10 games) I thought I'd leave him in. Will drop final week

Here are the prior week's results

Surprised Prescott is so high but being coupled with Cousins looks right. Lawrence looks a good bet for MVP for next season as we previously discussed. Completely agree that Goff should be in Pro Bowl ahead of Cousins.

Dak's TDs-Turnovers of +8 is 18th, but his Standard Passer Rating is 9th (though only seperated by <1pt with others)

Yeah not sure what’s so surprising. Take out the interceptions and he’s been really good.

The picks are why he is at 13, had he cut back on those he’d be top 10 like DFWJC mentioned.

The final week can get weird because some teams don't play their starters.
Recall that Dak had a franchise record +5 in just one game last year vs Phillies scout team.
Not blaming him. He did his job. Just saying, it can a bit odd in that particular week.

Also, just to point out again...
any player that has more TDs than turnovers would be expected to add to their TD-Turnovers differential if they played more games.
So that hurt guys like Dak, Tua.....even Purdy...lol

Turnovers play a key part of the above statistical data so with 14 Interceptions, despite having missed 5 games, I'm surprised he's almost in the top 12.

-Josh Allen way better than Tua. Allen: 32 passing TDs, 7 Rushing TDs.
-Garoppolo isn't top 20 just fortunate to play for Shanahan, Niners.
-Dak should be a couple slots higher

Goff has played his best ball now 7 years in. I still don't think he leads the Rams to a SB victory last year though.

Agree.
3 straight playoff, late 4th qtr, game-winning drives was some sort of NFL record.
I doubt Stafford could repeat it himself, let alone Goff...lol
That no-look 3rd and long throw on the Super Bowl game-winning drive was pure insanity.
