I thought a thread of recommendations of products we like, especially if they're new or off the radar, would be a welcome addition.

I found this several years ago and could only get it online but now I see it's getting stocked and put this on some Popeye's Fried Chicken and your mouth will thank you. Makes a great marinade for chicken or pork too.

Here is a new hot sauce I got into and it's very tasty. Really good in any green chili dish or guac. It's Yellowbird, if you can't make that out.

I've been getting these as Costco ever since they started carrying them and they're very easy, tasty and versatile. Toss them in a hot skillet and make a dipping sauce or drop them in chicken broth with some scallions.

My wife heard about the Mikes Hot Honey and wanted to try it. I ordered it from Amazon. We tried it on Pizza (which is how it supposedly started), Brussels Sprouts, fried chicken, egg rolls, and hot biscuits. It tasted like honey with a little heat aftertaste. We were underwhelmed. But taste is such a personal thing. Where do you get the hot sauce? I do not see that on the store shelves here in NJ. We like to try different hot sauces.

You can get it on Amazon, they have several flavors. I was looking for a green sauce and gave it a shot and liked it a lot. I am going to try the others, the store here stocks it.

You're right, it's all about taste buds and that honey hits mine just right because I really like a residual bounce back heat as an aftertaste. First time I ever tasted it was on Jalapeno Cornbread and it was great.

Don't get me wrong. I like honey. I make a little Italian dessert every Christmas called struffoli. They are little fried balls of dough soaked in honey. They are addicting. I also like some heat, but I prefer to get punched the the face with it rather than the aftertaste. LOL.

They sell Fresh Natural Honey, mixed with Red Chile flecks or Green Chile, on the side of the road here. Pretty good stuff.

Any posters here needing to avoid sugar or carbs, Baja Bob's makes some very good mixers with Splenda. Margarita, Triple Citrus Margarita, Mojito, Mai Tai and Sweet n Sour are all good. The challenge is finding them. Those Marg mixes are better than any I've tried and I've tried a bunch of them. The trick is finding your own sweet spot for the ratio for your cocktail.
