Potential Playmakers? Who are they????

Dandy Don became a playmaker along w/Bob Hayes in their 2nd season. Some would argue 1st.

Tony D was a playmaker instantly in his rookie season.

The Manster became one as soon as Landry figured out it was a mistake to try to make a LB out of him.

Michael Irvin didn’t do squat his first three seasons in the league.

Troy in his 3rd season.

So I ask you…….Who do you foresee, if any, are the future “Playmakers” that are on the roster now?

I think we have alot of them on the roster right now, that is why it stings so much that we are on the couch.

Demarcus Ware, Chris Canty, Roy Williams, Terry Glenn (not his fault he is the only guy with speed), Julius Jones, Drew Bledsoe, Anthony Henry, Aaron Glenn, and Terence Newman.

All of these guys either showed flashes or proved it throughout most of the season.

Ware, Canty, Spears, Ratliff... boy I just like all the big guys we brought on defense this past off-season... I'd like to see a firebreathing LBer however, no offense to Bradie James, who really looked well this season... with another huge body occupying space... I can see James just doing more and more...

On offense, before Crayton went down... I was truly seeing a #2 WR as well, I really think Crayton can do it... Also, Marion Barber looks like a keeper big time...

We all know what T-New can do as well, he's definately a Cowboy for life...

Future Playmakers

Offense
Jones, Barber, Crayton

Defense
Ware, Williams, Spears, Canty, Newman, Henry

Special Teams
Thompson, Pile(if he stays)

Roy WIlliams is already a huge playmaker for us, and was from the start of his rookie year

Ware's 3-sack, 3ff performance against Carolina flashed visions of playmaker

when healthy, Julius Jones

add Manny Lawson, and that's another playmaker ;)

Ok, this may be a reach, but does anyone still have some hope that Terrance Copper could still step up and be a factor?

Parcells obviously does

He also had high hopes for Willie Blade and Delroy Stewart.

Parcells is a great coach but he is not always right ya know...

who said anything about high hopes? just hopes, there's a reason Parcells keeps young players on the bottom of the roster...in hopes that one day, with the proper coaching, they might become of some use

Ware will be a 10 sack a year player.

Spears and Canty will be unspectacular players and will go the way of Ekuban.

With the exception of Witten we have no playmakers on offense (and he wont be a playmaker if he has to continue to stay in and block for Bledsoe)

I like the <crickets chirping> option better at this point

marion barber
demarcus ware
chris canty
ryan fowler

these are 4 i would watch.

I honestly feel the only way we get a playmaker on offense is if we draft Santonio Holmes in the draft. He's the closest thing to Steve Smith or Santana Moss we are gonna find. Not sure if thats where I would like to see us go with OT and LB needs though. Who knows long time until the draft eh.

I don't see any on offense...in fact, unless Julius JOnes can stay healthy this coming season and rush for at least 1200-1300 yards, I think it'll be time to go RB hunting again.

ON defense, I was not in favor of drafting Marcus Spears, but having seen the way he came on as the season wound down, I believe that he and/or Burnett may prove to be our biggest surprises next season.

As for Ware, I think he's a good one, but unless he can learn to play on his feet behind the LOS as a real LB and in pass defense from time to time, I don't see him ever being a GREAT ONE in the 3-4.

WR's rarely if ever are impact players year One.

*I'm looking at Pope ort the Maryland TE in the first two rounds.
*FA Offseason - Tackle and WR
*3rd round draft a speed WR

*LB & FS also Day 1

That gives Bledsoe the firepower he'll need and rounds out our D.
