Defense may be improving after all.

- During goal line work, the defense did a solid job of keeping the offense out of the end zone on multiple plays. No matter if it was Ezekiel Elliott, Rico Dowdle or even Hunter Luepke on a fullback dive, the defense was creating some internal pressue and stopping the offense at the line. It's been the first time at camp that the goal line work has seen an overwhelming defensive win. (Nick Harris)

- Having been mostly quiet to begin camp, that's changing quickly for Eric Scott this week. The former sixth-round pick is scratching and clawing to earn reps in Year 2 behind Jourdan Lewis, as rookie fifth-round pick Caelen Carson makes waves on the outside. Scott finished Tuesday with more than one pass break up and some physical coverage against receivers — often staying in their hip pocket through the entire route. - (Patrik Walker)
Easily the less talked about draft pick recently. And the Cowboys used not one but two draft picks to get him. A crowded and upgraded CB corp this year. Scott should make the 53 but he needs to start making plays when given the chance.

What sucks is we won't know if it's the defense being good or our running game continuing to suck until it matters. I mean, assuming Hoffman is as good as we keep hearing we do have one of the better interior O-lines in the league with him, Martin, and Smith, so hopefully this means the defensive line is coming along. It is starting to feel like this team could be an RB and DT or two away from actually being contenders again. And so much is riding on Steele and Diggs quickly returning to form.

Glad to see Guyton getting back. He needs all the reps he can get. More good things about the defense is always good to hear.

I’m most excited for the secondary. The CBs are awesome and they have depth. Add in Parsons pass rush and the new LB depth and I think they’re looking at a lot of turnovers again, sacks and INts.

Usually In TC defense is first to Gel and comes out on top and offense is slower to get cohesive and starts getting back on defense at mid TC . May be this is just that.

But run game needs to be better , with Zeke back especially for those EZ runs

I'm more excited about the new LB unit ...D-Mo (Overshown) ..and Marist .... hope Hendricks durability & health holds up. - he's the very key
signal caller of the new Zimmer defense.

i'm anxious to see Damone Clark come reg season games ... good to hear he's been having a very solid camp thus far.
