Whipping up a pre-combine big board for who I'd like to see us hone in on at 26 BEFORE confirming what kind of athletes these guys are. List is in no particular order and I've excluded several players who I think are top 10 locks:

  • Peter Skoronski - OT
  • Joey Porter Jr - CB
  • Quinton Johnston - WR
  • Anthony Richardson - QB
  • Jordan Addison - WR
  • Brian Branch - DB
  • Jaxon Smith Njgba - WR
  • Will McDonald - Edge
  • Nolan Smith - Edge
  • Jalin Hyatt - WR
  • Drew Sanders - LB
  • EMmanuel Forbes - CB
  • Deonte Banks - CB
  • Zay FLowers - WR
It's been claimed that this is a weak class lacking top end talent but I think there's surprisingly a lot of options at 26 that could be good picks.

I would add Mayer, Robinson, Gibbs, and Schmitz.

I’m a big fan of Schmitz but he doesn’t seem to be a consensus 1st rounder. He might jump as we get closer to the draft.

Hard pass for me on a RB in the 1st…very poor positional value.

Mayer doesn’t look like a 1st round TE to me. I’m guessing he’ll run around a 4.75.

I suspect that Schmitz will be high on the Cowboys board. Mayer is unstoppable in the redzone. Dane says that he is the best that he has ever seen at contested catches. Contested catches in the redzone are touchdowns. His blocking ability in the redzone also equate to touchdowns.

I agree Mayer is good in the redzone, but that isn’t enough to use a 1st round pick on him. If he comes out and posts a hug RAS score post combine but on tape he just doesn’t look like he can run like a 1st rounder.

If we’re just looking for a red zone target with soft hands you could get that kind of guy in the 4th/5th.

Say no to first round OL

This team needs weapons. We don’t need 5 first round OL

CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan
His tape from last year is ridiculous. He’s got the talent and attitude to be one of the top Centers in the league.
Probably going to be like Frederick in that he is better than his measurables.

Let's revisit this in a couple of years.

He likely a top 5 TE by year 2.
Yes, he certainly looks worth pick 26. It looks like a big stud tight end is usually found on the Super Bowl winner.

Would Schmidt except the G spot. I know we can hold it down. Nothing wrong in investing three first rounds into the offensive line. IMO move the ball whatever it takes
