6 - 2. Alot of "must wins" and a few "should wins", I like our schedule. But I'm happy that we're playing a couple of contenders too, especially a couple fighting for no. 1 seed. Should be a few good check ups to see where this team really stands. While I enjoy blow out wins against NYG just like the next one they have absolutely nothing to do with what's going on in the play offs.

Talk about 2 teams on opposite trajectories:

  • Since starting 7-3 in 2022, the Giants have a record of 4-12-1 in the regular season (East Coast bias got Brian Daboll his Coach of the Year award)
  • Since starting 3-6 in 2022, the Lions are 13-4 (Can we hear some support for giving former Cowboys TE Dan Campbell the Coach of the Year award in 2023?)

I will say 5-3 but it should be noted the Cowboys have not lost 2 consecutive games since Nov 21 and Nov 25 in 2021. The Nov. 25 Thanksgiving loss was the game against the Raiders where the refs gifted the Raiders a pass interference against Anthony Brown putting them in FG range in overtime.

This team has responded really well in games after losses. Of course most seasons they don't face two really good team in succession but still their record speaks for itself.

Last year they lost to Tampa to start the season and came back and beat the Bengals the following week. They lost to the Eagles and then beat the Lions. They lost to Green Bay and then demolished the Vikings in Minn. the following week. They lost to the Jaguars and beat the Eagles the next week.

I think if they continue this trend then it is unlikely they lose more than 3 of their remaining games.

But that leaves them at 11-6 and that is not going to be good enough to win the division.

6-2. Eagles, Bills, Dolphins & Lions are a tough stretch, so I'll assume 2-2 in that stretch. They could do better than that, but they could also lose one of the other games, so 6-2 seems reasonable to me
