The cowboys will wait until the draft is over to cut or reduce Dez. Incase they dont draft a potential starter, they're keeping him and bringing in receivers. If they happen to draft DJ Moore or Calvin Ridley, they'll release Dez. Whatever they do, it'll be after the draft.

Sooooo, considering we talking about the Cowboys, won't happen.

More likely Dez gets a contract extension so that they can pay him less while he's here, but pay him until he's 65 years old.

Our FO always leaves us guessing during preseason.
 
How many rookie receivers make a big impact their 1st year? Might as well keep Dez and just play the most productive guys regardless of pay.
 
Nobody would ever draft a WR based on that logic.


Not for immediate impact no. You draft a receiver for what he can hopefully do year 2 and 3. Its sad but very much like a qb it takes almost their entire rookie contract to develop and you hope you see enough to extend them or not.
