i think price can make a bigger impact than most people think...i think there will be games where we come out saying run first and games where bledsoe may throw the ball 30-35 times. didn't we do that a lot last season? we are guaranteed good chemistry b/t bledsoe and price

Yes but last year we had no running game for much of the season and the defense was not very good. Hopefully neither will be the case this year.

What are you going to do with Price on those running plays since he doesn't block? Also, how long is it going to be for the other receivers to quit blocking for him since he won't block for them on passing plays? In my opinion, his refusal to block severly cuts into any value he might otherwise have. Of course, my opinion doesn't matter, BP (preferrably) and JJ (hope not) make those decisions and they made him an offer but it apparently wasn't enough to get him very excited so I guess they have their own idea about how much a non-blocking WR who doesn't do special teams is worth. Come to think of it, Q. Morgan doesn't do special teams either...wonder if he blocks?

Bill said yesterday - I forget his exact words - but it was something like "he is coachable", or "open to coaching", or "seems coachable".

Not the kind of statement you'd think relevant when it comes to a vet reciever, but Tuna may have been referring to that aspect of Price's game.

Price signed!!!!!!!!!1 - Bledsoe vouched for him and Parcells, Glenn have defended him at Jets.

Solid add!

I'm pretty sure that Newman covered him as a rookie in his first game.

I just updated my 2006 roster for ESPN NFL 2k5 by adding Fujita and Price.

Price is a 92 rated WR.

Let's hope it's like this in the real NFL. ha ha

Sure beats Leo Carson vouching for Marcellus Wiley doesnt it?

Price will be a huge addition, especially if we end up signing him later to more than the one year...he brings a little less wear and tear than Glenn and Key, yet a veteran presence.

Before this signing, we were 1 injury from trying to find out if Crayton is ready to be a starter, and anyone who thinks preseason answered that question just needs to remember that Alvin Harper was a great #2 WR for us, but he was never #1 WR material and proved it around the league.

The top 3 guys, whoever they are, will give us a decent set of receivers, and the #4 guy prevents us from having to play guys like Copper or never use 3 WR's in case of injury.

If you look at his bio, Price progressed nicely w/Buffalo, culminating with the 94 catch, 1,252 yd. performance in 2002. He had a decent first yr. with the Falcons, then had trouble last yr. with the WC. One thing that is impressive is that Peerless has started every game except two the past 5 seasons. That's the kind of dependability we've been lacking at WR. It also means he is either very lucky, or the man plays hurt. I also think the blocking thing has been blown out of proportion. I live in NE Ohio, & Butch Davis started making a limited blocking ability a big deal w/Kevin Johnson. Never mind he was the best WR on the team, and had acumulated serious numbers in just a few years with the Browns. Now, Johnson is vying for a roster spot in Detroit, & looks very good doing it, in spite of great competition.
Sure, you want your players to be able to do everything well, but if they do a few things great, like catch 94 balls for over 1,200 yds., I'll take the weaknesses.

Price is a great pickup, and will add a totally new dimension to our offense. Just one more reason to get excited about this team. Bledsoe now has his two favorite receivers of all time on the team, and I wouldn't doubt a 4,000 yd. season for our QB. Add 1,800 for JJ, & a swarming "D", and we are going to kick some serious birdie *ss!!!

We fell in love with Morgan's numbers at Cleveland as well. Hopefully Price will pick up where he left off up there.

Don't think that was the case. Not to beat the dead horse even more, but we weren't keeping Bryant regardless. He was done. Finished. Gone. Sealed his fate. We took anything we could get, knowing we would cut him if we had to. Did we hope a fresh start would get Morgan going? Sure. He has the talent, he just can't seem to get it together. The Price signing probably puts him on the street, that or being traded if possible.

Price is no Key, but he will block.

I know he has that obnoxious quote floating around out there, but it's clear that his relationship with the Falcons had deteriorated and it was probably said more out of spite than anything else.

Listening to Dan Reeves the other day, he described Price as a "better than adequate" blocker. Not a rave review, but also doesn't sound like a guys who runs away from blocks.

Also, last time I looked, ATL had a pretty good running game last year, so he must have been doing something out there on those running plays.
