If you were going to go all in for next season and disregarding the future ahead, which 4 positions would address our biggest holes and offer immediate impact:

Left Guard-this would protect the team from Tyron's lack of durability concerns.
Tight End-team needs to replace Dalton Shultz production in the passing game as he was the team's #2 receiving option and Dak's safety valve on 3rd downs.
Running Back-Tony Pollard is coming off of a broken leg and hasn't carried the load since High School.
Nose Tackle-the run defense is the biggest concern, you could make a case for a #3 Linebacker as well.

-Mayer/Kincaid-Kraft/Laporta are probably alternates in rd 2.
-Benton/Mazi/Ika-probably have to use 58 to land 1 of them, although NT's have been 3rd rd picks recently
-Zavala/Bradford/Mafi-all consider late day 2, early day 3
-Bigsby, Miller, Johnson, Abanikanda, Evans, Gray are all consider 3rd-4th rd prospect

I like all of those lower value need positions in rounds 3/4 which makes it hard to prioritize.

Fortunately we covered holes in FA enough so we can still stick to BPA and just take the best players at those positions.

The draft process isn’t just for yr 1 and you get in trouble reaching to fill a need. Think it’s all about their stack, will they value need positions over best players available.

The Cowboys are pretty solid as a team. I would love for them to trade back a little and get an extra 3rd. The Cowboys could use another play maker at receiver, cornerback, and pass rusher as well. The draft is wide open for them. Hopefully they stick to the board and take their highest rated prospect. For example the Cowboys don’t need a left guard because we have Tyler. I don’t see anyone in the draft that going to beat out Tyron, Tyler, Badacz, Martin, and Steele. You also can’t assume injury because it can happen at every position.

They love that 5th yr option and wish they had that with Diggs right now. Unless you trade back with the Chiefs, who have a late 3rd rd pick, you probably only would get a 4th rd selection. As for the Guard, you can always draft a Mafi and develop him or do a draft/stash with Vorhees.

I would of thought we're putting a brave face on drafting CeeDee. Given the option I bet we're delighted we took Diggs in the second.

So often we hear this myth that we 'love the 5th year option'....but when, in recent years, have we been in a position to be wiped out of all our 1st Rd Grades. If that happens and we have the option of trading down and taking an extra 3rd Rd, we actually make a net gain on rookie contract even if the pick is more developmental and takes a couple of years to be a regular.

Even in trade back scenarios, they have never traded out of the 1st rd and lost that 5th yr option.

But we've always had 1st Rd grades left on our Board and havent been picking in the 20's (even in 2017 we had 1st Round Grades left). With this weak draft, in terms of elite talent, there's a distinct possibility we're wiped out....in that instance trade out and gain a net 3 years on Rookie Contracts (if that's such a consideration).

Maybe Buffalo,Cincinnati ect might be willing to give us a 4th for a certain player. That 4th round pick could be running back replacement.
