2023 Oline Ranks

  1. Philladelphia...no surprise
  2. Kansas City
  3. Cleveland
  4. New England
  5. Baltimore
  6. Detroit...finally has built a line
  7. Atlanta
  8. Green Bay
  9. Tampa Bay
  10. DALLAS......The Cowboys may no longer have the best offensive line in the NFL, but they’re still a top-10 unit in our book. Right guard Zack Martin is a future Hall of Famer, and rookie Tyler Smith looked like a competent left tackle from Day 1. Will Dallas hang onto 33-year-old Tyron Smith, who is entering the final year of his contract?
  11. San Francisco
  12. Minnesota
  13. Carolina
  14. LA Chargers
  15. Indianapolis
  16. Cincinnati....middle of the pack better than worst in the league, I guess
  17. New Orleans
  18. Jacksonville
  19. Las Vegas
  20. Chicago
  21. Miami
  22. Houston
  23. LA Rams
  24. Denver
  25. Buffalo
  26. Pittsburgh
  27. Seattle
  28. Washington
  29. NY Jets
  30. NY Giants....QB has has crap oline his whole career
  31. Arizona
  32. Tennessee---wow, talk about a fall from the top

Those of us who understand what we're seeing on Sundays knew Burrow didn't actually have a terrible OL.

He's just the master of holding onto the ball too long and taking sacks.

Cowboys go OL at 26 and they move up that list. I'm fine if they wait until day 2 if the talent will be there.

Bottom line is this OL is good enough to get past the first round of the playoffs.

There is absolutely no way that our line is better than SF. That is a total joke.

And there is NOOO way Tampa is #9. No way they are much worse.

I like USC’s Vorhees. He has position versatility, lots of experience, and is an excellent OG starter right away and may be available in round 3.

Probably early day 3 due to the cal injury. Stash him

Those of us who understand what we're seeing on Sundays knew Burrow didn't actually have a terrible OL.

He's just the master of holding onto the ball too long and taking sacks.

It’s overall. Run + pass blocking.

From pff,

As a unit, the Bengals graded out to a 56.9 pass-blocking mark. Only the Tennessee Titansgraded lower, but they were so ravaged by injuries that they had five linemen on injured reserve by the end of the season, including three starters.
The answer to that may be a lot simpler than some think. It’s that Burrow thrives in the quick-passing game. In 2022, only Tom Brady got the ball out quicker on average than Burrow did, (2.31 seconds per throw vs. 2.50), and nobody was better on passes released in under 2.5 seconds, as Burrow’s passing grade of 89.7 and 18 big-time throws both led the league.

So, second worse pass blocking offensive line.

Cowboys Oline finished the 2022 season ranked:

-28th out of 32 teams in Pass Block Win Rate.
-7th out of 32 teams in Run Block Win Rate.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...aderboard-win-rate-rankings-top-players-teams

If one adds them both up and divides by number of teams total in both categories (32 teams × 2 = 64), the Cowboys Oline finished ranked 17.5 out of 32 teams.

28 + 7 = 35 ÷ by 64 (amount of teams x 2 (amount by number topic of run & pass blocking total). 35 ÷ 64 = 0.546 rank out of 1.000 × 64 = 35 % 2 = 17.5 Cowboys Oline overall rank out of 32 teams.

Clearly, you're remedial.

Did I specify "pass blocking"? Or did I say their OL wasn't terrible (which it wasn't)?

Been saying this for awhile. Lots of people complain Dak needs a better OL however they routinely rank out as a top 10 unit. People act like we have the Gaints OL or something
Everyone compares to the line we had with Prime Tyron, Leary, Tfred, Martin, and Free. 3 all-pros and 2 good players in Leary and Free. Having 3 Pro Bowl linemen is special and hard to match.

But you also said Burrow holds the ball too long and it appears, based on stats above (granted PFF stats), that's not true at all and that Burrow was the 2nd fastest at getting the ball out.

Wait, 2nd fastest at getting the ball out? You're basing that on the OL being ranked 2nd worst in pass blocking?

Even though Burrow gets sacked a TON?

Nope.
