For making the one call that maybe won us a Super Bowl....

Overstated maybe, but I think the decision to stick with Romo through all the picks and showing confidence in him, will give Romo what he needs to shake this performance off and take his game to the next level.

WP could easliy folded the cart up and pulled Romo and put Johnson in but he didn't, and no one would really have ssaid much about it after 6 turnovers.

However, I sat there telling my wife that we needed to stick with romo and let him work it out.

Good job, Wade, good job.

I agree. Romo had a rough night, but he has 4 other games of great play too, I'm more inclined to think that tonight was just an "off night"

couldn't agree more... if u take him out then u are basically telling him u don't think he gives your team the best chance to win. Then his performance carries on to the next week and he is afraid to take chances in fear of being pulled.

I just don't see it. There was never a chance he'd pull Romo.

I must admit I did get nervous when Brad Johnson took off the head set and put on his helmut before half time. Romo gaves the best chance to win (evidence by the victory). Pulling him put unecessary questions in the teams head.

If JJ and the coaching staff believe that Romo is our "franchise QB", you've got to let the player continue playing.

This was a great test for Romo from a mental standpoint. He could have folded after the 1st half. Or even after his 5th int, or after his fumble.

But he didn't.

He led the team to two game winning drives end of the game.

That shows a lot of mental resolve.

I think he was thinking about it. I saw Johnson with his helmet on and ready to go in and I thought, "Don't do it Wade, don't do it."

well there were some here in the game thread calling for Johnson
LOL. The chat room is overreaction central.

Not trying to be mean, but anyone who thinks that Phillips even thought of going with Johnson is horribly mistaken.

Romo is the QB of this team for this year, and many more years to come. Everyone in the Dallas Cowboys organization knows that. You dont pull QB's like that just because they are playing poorly. This aint Drew Henson.

...asked Brad to put on the helmet to give Romo a reality kick in the butt? A little motivation so to speak.

YOu got that right!! I started using the ignore button after the first INT with all of the game over/I told you so about Romo posts Even when we we only down by a TD in the third some were saying the game was over. I'm glad I don't pay them attention or else I would have went to bed and missed that great ending.

Wade would be stupid to take out Romo. Even if he was throwing nothing but INTs you keep Romo in there and let him take his asskicking. Romo is our QB for a long time because the coaches know he'll get the job most games. 5 INTs and 6 turnovers overall isn't going to happen often with Romo.

ummm I think Brad was probably putting on his helmet because he might be forced to rush on the field for a field goal attempt... Romo could throw 17 int's and Wade wouldn't pull him in the first half with his team trailing by 10.

And he ain't Matt Lienart either but they did it to him last week. It happens even to the future of the team.

Um... Brad put on his helmet because we were close to getting into FG range before halftime.

He's the holder, remember?

And when Leinart plays consistantly well like Romo has this year and even last, and you have a former Super Bowl and league MVP as your backup, that may be a completely different case secnario than what we have.

Romo is our guy. There are no thoughts about benching him unless he is physically unable to perform. Period.
