I installed the software and it says that PSN is still undergoing maintenance. Haven't even got a message asking me to change my password.

When did they ask you to do that?

make sure you download the new firmware FIRST before changing your password.

I downloaded and installed the 3.61 fw last night and was able to get on and change my password around 11pm EST.

Where do you change the PW at? I've seen some people have been prompted to do so but I never got one.

When I go to Sony's website to log into PSN and change it, it says PSN is still under maintenance.

Tried signing into PS Store again and it finally prompted me. Updated my password, accepted the terms and am good to go.

I didn't have to wait for an email though.

Good to know. I guess I'll keep trying both ways till something works.
