This is going to be a hot topic in the off season. Steve and Jerry Jones have invested a lot of support and money into Dak Prescott. He will certainly be number one to begin with. But he is getting older and coming off his second leg injury. He has a career filled with nice stats but he like his predecessor Tony Romo has failed to produce in the playoffs. And I get the feeling that some if not most of his teammates lack confidence in him. He will get his chance but he is not nearly as secure now as he has been in the past.

Cooper Rush is a very good number 2 QB. He too is no longer young. But he maxes his abilities and preforms well. He is confident and a good care taker. If he returns and the Cowboys do not lose him to another team during FA he may be a serious option to Prescott. His stock if certainly improving so far this season.

Other options??? Well there is always the chance of adding a QB in the draft. I doubt the team will be willing to spend the money to acquire a top FA guy.

At this point it looks like the first big thing for the Cowboys will be the HC. That should be resolved rather quickly. The second big thing will be Micah Parson and his extension. I think that will drag on for most of the off season with him signing a big deal with the Cowboys. But this QB thing is out there and will get a lot of attention from the fans especially.

They pay Dak too much to not play him.

It won’t be for long though. He’ll get hurt again.

He was crazy immobile this year. The literal first game he decides to run a little bit he doesn’t finish and is out for the season.

His body has failed him and I don’t see him
ever playing a full season again.

Even for the most anti Dak crowd its hard to dismiss the idea that he will be the starter in 2025 if for nothing else his contract demands it.

The interesting thing to watch for this offseason is if they choose to not restructure Daks deal....that would open the possibility of them moving on after 2025 although I think they still need to figure out who the next QB would be.

Dak will be the guy, so the only intrigue is how they go about filling QB2 and QB3. Are they going add a young QB to develop ort just go with Rush to caddie Dak till its over.
