Have you guys noticed a trend among QB’s to avoid throwing the ball away-when the play is obviously dead? I’m not talking about obvious actual sacks. I mean QB’s taking a 1-2 yard or more loss, because it would impact their QB rating if they threw an incomplete pass (either running out of bounds or just falling down). Perhaps it’s because everyone follows metrics and stats like a blood hound these days-thoughts?

I haven't noticed QB's avoiding throwing the ball away any more or less.

Find it hard to believe that a competitive QB at that moment is thinking to take a loss instead of throwing the ball away because it impacts his "stats".

Can't remember the QB or the game, but a few years ago the commentators were saying he'd have a higher QB rating if he just threw the ball away.

Tom Brady threw the ball away when necessary. Get rid of a stat padding QB.
